You bought a fun car. But fun car is not what you need always, and not a car for long term for sure. Looks like you'd like a car that has more of balance between performance and luxury.

My point is, never buy a car on specs. Buy a car you know you can live with.

Good point. I did this with the ST when I wanted the GTI all along. I should have known better being a VW/Audi fanboy. Lesson learned.

Yep, exactly this. I'm going to go look at a 2015 A3 (aka Audi's Jetta) this weekend... just because but... I'm looking to sell my ST soon. I just can't see myself in this for much longer.

Which are not real Recaro's anyways. They are beefed up Ford Focus seats with Recaro's labels on them. I wish they got ride of the stupid beefed up padded areas on the seat cushions and put in real adjustable seat. Other than the seats it's a fun car.

I admit, for the first couple of months I was worried that they were going to be too tight, but they've broken in nicely and I absolutely love them. My sons often rack themselves on the high thigh bolsters but they'll learn eventually They do tilt back a bit too far but I'm used to it now.

My son will be traveling all over the country for baseball tournaments this summer so I'll likely be taking 9+ hour road trips several times. The longest I've driven in them so far is about 5 hours.

I used to when I was an idiot and switched cars like most people (every 2-3 years).

I haven't had buyers remorse in over 13 years now. All of my cars are that age and I'm driving them until they are no long worth keeping.

Nothing more beautiful than a car that has no car payment....

My only regret with buying a new car is having to talk to a car dealer that tries to make you think that you are getting the best deal possible.

Anyway, never had any regrets with any car. With my last one, I didn't even care. The whole "new cool" factor is a non issue once you get to my age.

It's hard to go from a German to an American car too...those Germans really know how to make great interiors.

Nothing so exotic. Just a Z06.

By the time I saved enough for a P1, they would long since have stopped making them

Oh, they already stopped making them and all of them were sold prior to even starting manufacturing I think.

I just enjoyed the mental image of that trade up.
