Anyone ever taken an ADHD test before?

Doc wants to administer one to me, says it will take about 20 minutes...kind of nervous. What all does it involve you think?

ie "do you have problems concentrating?"

here's an example answer, "I find focusing in school difficult. I'm not sure if it's because I'm bored or just can't pay attention, but stuff like porn and/or games I can definitely pay attention. do I have ADHD doc?"

I have adhd, i didn't take any "test" to figure out if i have it though, they just asked me why I was there, it was pretty easy to elaborate, then they asked more specific questions about what I said.

I went through one of the tests at a psychologist's office a couple years ago. Tested positive for ADHD with some learning disability or something. Didn't really affect me one way or the other... a little extra tough love and motivation worked for me, no meds needed.

They did memory, verbal, and math exercises IIRC. The memory was like... well, it was like the game everyone knows. Matching and remembering where stuff was, also, some recall exercises. Verbal involved some spelling and word associations stuff. Math was adding and subtracting, basic stuff like that. Everything was timed and scrutinized. It was all kind of stupid IMO, but meh, my parents wanted it.

ADHD and ADD are legitimate mental illnesses. That being said, I will admit that a large percentage of the diagnosed cases are bullshit.

ADHD isn't BS, just 95% of parents of "ADHD" kids who can't be bothered to do any parenting.

Yep, that's pretty much it. Parents like to be able to blame their kids being little shits on a mental illness, and like even more the idea that some magical pills will make them better.

Thats interesting. In my school system they gave every kid a free pass on most homework. Suddenly everybody was developing ADD and other shit.

Eventually they came up with an official screening process, but not before the school went crazy. Those of us who didnt magically acquire the disease were left to fend for ourselves.

Thats just one of many bad memories I have from my old school system. Am glad to be free from it.

Like I said, my parents wanted me to have the test. Did it affect my schooling in any way, shape, or form? No. Just because some letters say I can't sit still doesn't mean that I deserve special treatment.

The standard ADHD test is where they put you in a closet size room that has a large fan and about 5000 small features, and the object is to catch as many in 20 minutes as possible with the fan on high.
