The thing is $50, by the time you add in shipping, you can get a brand new socket 478 board shipped from newegg.com

I can't remember the brand, but last year I took my Asus P2b that had a P2 350 running in it and with an adapter (name is on the tip of my tongue but I can't get it) - I've now got a Celeron 1000 running in this old bastard. For me it was an awesome and cheap upgrade. Who would have thought that a now 4+ year old board could be running at 1000 mhz!

I had that model... for a Celery 1.3 ghz on a Asus P3CL. Really good priduct, until i got a real Tualtin based motherboard and put back the p3 600 in the Asus. Really recommend it works Great

Get the version for SLOT 1 buy a Celeron 1.1 A. RAISE the FSB to 133 and you get automatic FREE performance. Because its the same as the P3

Nosaj[/b} must be talking about a Pentium 4 motherboard with socket 423 P4 and RDRAM. It its good investment if you ask me. Get a P4 2.5 and a socket adapter and be set. You dont have to upgrade Memory, Moherboard, RAM just to change to a faster processor.

That's great if you have a hand built system, but if you have a system using a proprietary case/powersupply and you'd need to upgrade those as well, this may be cheaper. I was considering one of these for an older Dell, but got a laptop instead.

Aww man.... PPGA socket 370... feel your pain man. A small MATX case and 4 pci slots. Bummer duude.

You know you deserved a 815 chipset so you can upgrade up to 1.4 P3 with the adapter.

Quoted from their warranty info:

2. Three-Year Warranty. If your PowerLeap product fails at any time within three years due to any cause other than abuse, misuse, or catastrophic event (Godzila, alien invasion, Bin Laden, etc...), return it and PowerLeap will replace or repair it at no charge.

lol

I put one on my Asus P2B-F board with a Celeron 1.2Mhz (it was a Celeron 400). Worked perfectly.
