Yes, but you will have to download ANT+ enabling app from the Google Play Store! Good luck

Will ANT+ be supported on the OnePlusOne?

NICE. Some may not care, but I would have loved to have it on my Nexus 4. Now i just need to wait and see if it has Chinese backdoors

But you are talking about them and you know about their phone, yes?
You're correllating without cause.

Assuming that this promo was the gateway to them knowing of the phone. Anyone who has been following mobile/Android for the last few months have known about this phone, and the promo has nothing to do with that knowledge.

This promo and the ticket system and the obvious compromises are sullying all the hype they've managed to build up to this point.

I'm just going to say one last thing about this giveaway because it's taking over this thread and that's stupid.

My opinion is that this giveaway is straight up stupid. I am one of many who feels this way. If you disagree, so be it.

We should also put this into perspective. We are talking about something that will be offered to 100 people. That's nothing. It's something that will come and go. (Unless the current backlash grows.) A brand new company is making a rookie mistake IMO. It won't have any lasting effects in the long run, and ultimately that's all that matters. Offering the phone to 100 people would have been a better move IMO without needing to smash a phone or anything else.

If you want to debate this any further with me, PM me. But I won't be arguing about this stupid promo any further on this thread.

I'm talking about this phone regardless of this stupid promo. And I knew about them far before this giveaway.

You are and maybe you would be anyway but lots of people reading this thread and reading the articles on websites hadn't heard of it.
Now they might be going "that promos a bit silly" but they'll also be going "that's a lot of phone for not much money" which is better than them never having heard of it.

I'm not very excited for the phone because the specs and price seem too good to be true. When I think about the price of the phone and the fact that a new company is making it, I think there has to be some sort of catch. (shoddy build quality, buttons falling off early in life span, screen/camera failing to work early in life span etc..)

I hope I am wrong however. I'd love to see this become the new standard for pricing and specifications. When the next Nexus phone comes out this is the main phone I'd be comparing it to since they'll likely be the only high spec phones in that price range. If there are no big fiascos with this phone then I could end up buying one around Nexus 6 time.

It seems nice enough. Nothing appears to be groundbreaking. This phone would be very attractive to someone rocking a 2 cycle old phone currently. To me (who has bought the new design in the past year) its not enough to make me wanna switch.

I signed up to destroy my flagship phone (Lumia 925) to get a OnePlus One for $1.

I'll drop it off the balcony at work if I get chosen.
The selection date is when I have to go to China for work. I was hoping to have the contest run while I'm here in the US. Guh... Hopefully they allow me to wait til I return the week after to finish the smashing.

Phone looks great but Ill wait for a review, hopefully by Anandtech.

Pricing looks great but I am just curious if they had to cut corners somewhere.

I know most people are wowed by specs but things that dont get mentioned like radios are important to me.

Having owned the N5 then the Moto X, the Moto X has noticeably better reception.

Rumor is Oppo owns One Plus but they are hiding this fact.

Considering Peter Lau is ex-VP of OPPO, the One is highly similar to the Find 7/7a, and it is manufactured by OPPO... I'd have to say this is likely. At least partial ownership or a sister-company targeting the foreign, non-Chinese, market. Which isn't a bad thing, imo. It would be the right decision, in my opinion. Creating a sister company to excel in the foreign market would help them start fresh rather than carry the weight of any potential crap they've managed to build in the past... if there is a lot? The only two OPPO phones I've touched were the N1 and Find 7a, which are nice phones, but I've definitely seen some of their phones I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole.

I wish they would just take my money already so I can get rid of this note 2 while it's still worth something

The problem is that it's likely not going to be available widely anytime soon. By the time it is available, we'll probably have the Nexus 6 which will arguably be superior spec-wise, and which will be widely available on the Play Store.

I do appreciate the fact that they are taking aim at $600-$700 phones by offering similar specs for half the price. Right now off-contract phones are being priced too highly because of the 'carrier subsidy'. Meaning the uneducated consumer is often fooled into believing the phone they are buying is really $199.

Dunno, some people feel like they are being lied to, this feel betrayed.

Ummm, if you feel lied to because a company either gets someone else to make its stuff and rebadges it or a company has different sections dealing with different markets you're in for a world of disappointment.

The question is why is Oppo lying about One Plus to begin with? It's shady to essentially create this fake backstory of an employee leaving and starting a new company on his own. Just come out and say One Plus is a branch of Oppo.

I think it's great news if Oppo is behind One Plus. One Plus just went from some new start up to an established company pulling the strings all along.

I don't really feel anything towards them. At the end of the day, they're a chinese phone company that I wouldn't buy from in the first place (Oppo/OnePlus/ZTE.. etc). It's just a general consensus on Reddit /r/Android

Why wouldn't you buy from any of those companies?
