Looked good when I saw the original blog posts...I'd just like to know more about a timeline since I really need a new phone and will be going unsubsidized
Q2 2014. I believe they're aiming for April/May which sounds ridiculous to me, but we'll see.

To me they've done a fantastic job here and it seems they're addressing user concerns/complaints about other phones whereas most other phones seemed to be designed to sell to the mainstream clueless consumer.

The reveal of the options follows what they posted and you can see that the next reveal is on March 16, which sounds like the camera. After that there will only be one item left to reveal and hopefully that is the detail on the release date.

Only the release date left to reveal? How about what it looks like? I'd like to know where they put their buttons and such, how much bezel there is on a 5.5" screen in a Z1 sized phone (the Z1 is a pretty big phone even though it's holding a 5" screen), and other things.

I'm expecting the reveal would include pictures of the phone and all the rest of the nitty gritty details. The OnePlus One screen to body ratio is supposed to better than the Nexus 5 and it will have to be to be to be smaller physically than the Z1.

I'm coming from a Note 3 which is larger than the Z1 and I don't have issues with Note 3 size so the OnePlus will be smaller than what I am using with a screen only 0.2" smaller.

Are the screens on these things not physically 16:9?

I've been looking at some of these dimensions and they don't seem to match up quite correctly (or my math is way off).

Sony Z1: 2.91" wide. 5" screen. 5" x 9 / 16 = 2.81" wide screen. Those giant bezels come out to just 0.05" per side?

Galaxy Note 3: 3.12" wide. 5.7" screen. 5.7" x 9 / 16 = 3.2" wide screen. They fit a 3.2" wide screen in a 3.12" wide body?

Something is off. Non-square pixels?

Do we know yet if it's going to be sold in the US? If I have to import one then it's all but dead on arrival for me.

A 5.5" screen is 2.70" wide.

Diag: 5.5"
X: 2.70"
Y: 2.79"

This picture also better shows what a OnePlus would look like in a Z1 form factor.

They specifically addressed it will work on T-Mobile and AT&T, so likely. But why is it DOA if you have to import it?

Cause that usually means really high prices that steer me towards other devices. Good to know it will work on T-Mobile though. If anything it will be interesting to see an official CyanogenMod-running phone. Does that mean updates come from the CM team?

They are partners with CM providing the software and I would assume CM would provide the updates.
Yeah it'd be interesting to see how things work. Are we allowed to run nightlies? Are the nightlies pretty much the same features that other nightlies have? Is this a fork of CM to provide some exclusive OnePlus features only?

I also do wonder how big of a hit this will be in XDA and how many devs we get. I still think a big chunk of users will stick to Nexii phones even if this device is what the Nexus truly should've been.

They have said you're allowed to run whatever ROM you want AND you get to keep your warranty (but not if you fry the hardware itself say, like by overclocking too much). I think it was in the Reddit AMA. So you can run pure stock if you like.

Incidentally, assuming the screen is a 5.5" 1920x1080 screen (and not something like 2000x1080 - something I'm wondering might be possible since they're being so coy about the on screen buttons) then the MAXIMUM side bezel size is about 2.75mm which is basically thinner than anything else out there. I REALLY want to see what this phone looks like now.

I would get one, if it ONLY SUPPORTED VERIZON LTE BANDS.

WHY.
Verizon LTE doesn't help at all if it doesn't work on their CDMA, and Verizon is never going to certify some random device for their CDMA without a lot of carrier BS.

Yeah, sorry I didn't mean for warranty purposes, but like are regular CM nightlies going to hit for this phone, and I do wonder generally what the development scene will be like on XDA, but for the most part, considering every Nexus I've gotten I just rooted it and installed CM, I might as well get a CM phone.

Why would you need to assume? They already said the screen res is 1080p. One of their posts went in decent detail regarding their desire for good battery life, and they decided to stick with 1080p for that reason.

My assumption is that it's 1920x1080 and not maybe a slightly longer screen like 2000x1080 which is my pet theory about why they're making coy comments like "which do you prefer?" when asked about on-screen buttons vs capacitive. It's a complete wild guess of course.

It's obviously a concept picture but I wonder what stereo speakers only on one side (bottom) would be good for?

Better than bottom right only and not bottom left

And ugh, power button in the middle (vertically)? why?

Sony does that too.
BTW i do not know that site and even the comments on it say the size is not really a reliable source, so don't take it to "seriously".

On a bigger phone its easier to reach the power button if it were in the middle of the phone rather than up high, right like the Note 3 power button placement. Would make one handed operation easier.
