So I'm in Canada, but will be heading to Hawaii next week and was going to take my OPO with me of course. I usually get an add-on plan from my data provider, but was thinking I should be able to just grab a sim while there.

Can I just buy whatever sim from a phone provider there and pop it in without issue, or do I need to do something special? Thanks in advance for the help.

KT

You'll be able to pop in any SIM from either T-Mo or AT&T and their respective MVNOs (Metro PCS & Cricket/GoPhone).

Cool, thanks. Looks like there is an AT&T on the way to the house, so I should be good to go. Appreciate the help.

Probably a stupid question, but I am having a really weird issue. Is there some sort of coating or something on the screen which can come off? I don't see any scratches or anything on the screen, but now when I am texting, my fingers seem to be faster than the keyboard can respond. The screen also feels a bit different now, almost slippery.

The biggest problems are around the middle/top of the keyboard, specifically the T, H, and G keys. I am typing away and see the 'T' get highlighted as if it is going to be typed, but then it is just skipped and the word continues to be typed without it.

So I am typing "there" and it will end up "here", or even "ere". I know I am typing the letter "T", and it highlights, but it does not show up unless I really slow down my typing speed. I am using SwiftKey as my keyboard, but I switched to the stock Android keyboard and it was even worse.

Sorry, kind of a weird thing and I could not find any information on the Googles, so thought I would check here to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks.

OnePlus is saying that they'll be making a big announcement on June 1st. Most likely going to be the OnePlus Two unveiling according to the scuttlebutt.

Probably the oleophobic coating wearing down, which will make it more oily from your touch. If you are finding yourself having to wipe the screen often, that's probably the case. There are some good screen protectors out there that could help.

Hmm, yeah, that sounds about right. So freaking obnoxious. I'll have to hunt down a protector. Thanks.

Orzly is the best--can confirm. I have two. And yes coating wears off over time even on the protector. my iPhone 5's oleophobic coating has certainly worn off.

Just bought a 2nd OPO (for my son)

Still dying to see what the OP2 will be. Sounds like 810 Snapdragon, 3GB RAM and possibly... smaller?!?

Announcement in July it seems. Release the same month.

Are they still doing the invite thing for this second one? My opo had horrible yellow screen lets hope this second model uses a better screen. I'm quite happy with my n6 though.

Yeah, going back to invite but with more inventory this time. Still... I'm likely sitting this one out and going back to a Nexus. Cyanogen software bugs killed the experience for me.

Not yet:

Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, we assure you that we have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the 2. We worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software. The 2 will be “cooler than ever”.

With the tweaks, it's possibly similar to Samsung's Exynos which is the same ARM processor base. Wait and see is worth it this time.

Yes but not everyone has issues with the heat like HTC does.

I'm still homing in on the Note 5 but keeping an eye on the OP2

From their posting:

As for software, OxygenOS has been optimized to work beautifully with the Snapdragon 810. We’ve created a proprietary technology, which handles a variety of tasks for the chipset inside the 2. Of the aforementioned eight CPU processors, these vary in size for different tasks in the phone. For example, one or two of the larger processors would be used for graphics-heavy gaming, while in contrast, the small processor would be used for simple text messaging. In layman’s terms, one of our ROM’s features is to intuitively know which processor should be used for what task, and it avoids using two or more processors that are right next to each other.

Could still be decent if the hardware was modified to deal with heat. I believe htc just tried correcting it on the m9 via software throttling.

Believe it when we see it.

Sony's running v2.1. They're still running pretty poorly.

Exactly this. Everyone is always so quick to apologize for OnePlus.

Let's not let the facts get in the way, here. Just keep assuming this is an awesome decision.

The M9 is throttled so hard they might as well not have an 810, because you don't see the power. Carriers in Japan warn customers that the Sony phone runs hot. You know it's bad if a carrier is telling that to potential customers.

The only possible thing that could make this news wait-and-see worthy is if it's an even newer revision of the 810. If not, it will either be unacceptably hot, or throttled to the point of why did they even bother.

Of course the OnePlus I bought my son a month ago is now stuck at the cyanogen boot screen. Can't get past it. He's been using it for a month flawlessly. was just on Skype with friends, and it rebooted and now it's stuck.

I've had no issues with mine.
