I missed my mailman. The "missed delivery" ticket says I can't pick it up until after 9AM tomorrow. waaaaaaah. I'll be out all tonight, at least, so I wouldn't have much time to play with the phone.

Ugh, I've been searching for an invite, but didn't even think to check AT forums. Guess I'm adding myself to the spreadsheet...

OK first impression - damn it looks slick sitting in the box.
2nd impression - damn it's big.
3rd impression - damn it's big, but bad fucking ass.
4th impression - Sigh, Cynanogenmod is never smooth as it should be...sigh
5th impression - ahhh yellow tint, but it's not as horrible as people say. I don't really care to RMA it. No dead or stuck pixels so whatever.

Is the Chinese recovery normal? Or did I get a Chinese model? Gonna hit up XDA now and see wtf I can dig up.

it's slick and definitely nice for the price. 64gb is a huge plus as well for 350

I may have spoken too soon. I copied over some videos and the phone became quite hot and they yellow screen on the bottom has become nearly unbearable. It was sort of unnoticeable when I first started using it, but now is a strong yellow...

Gonna do the sunlight thing tomorrow. It's pretty bad. :'(

This phone is my ticket away from Verizon. If I could ever get my hands on two for my wife and I, I would split for T-Mo immediately. If that doesn't work out, I'll wait for the Nexus 6.

Yea first few times it looked like it was going away then it just got bad and stayed like that. I tried the sun and uv lamp. Didn't do anything for me. Reading anything is unbearable. I'm awaiting rma approval for refund now.

Relatively lightly used during this time but high accuracy location setting was always on, no wifi used at all, LTE connection used only and it includes 17 hours at work, a location with areas of blocked cell coverage. About 15 minutes of youtube video, mostly browsing, emailing and texting, less than 10 minutes of talking on the phone.

I'm impressed.

I never heard this scenario before. Usually the unlucky individual is slammed immediately by the yellow stripe of death (YSOD?) and then most of the time it either goes away slowly on it's own or quickly with sunlight/UV lamp exposure OR it just never goes away.

Sorry man.

Yea that doesn't look too shabby at all. I think you may have gotten a lot more out of it with the high accuracy turned off

Agreed, I'm sure he could. But this brings up a question I've had in my mind for a while now, why not just test the phone with all the bells and whistles ON the way you might normally use the phone and see how long it lasts in that fashion? I think that's far more telling than turning everything off and barely touching it.

I wish I had taken pics, but after the first week of usage and "conditioning" I did this with my OPO. Took it off the charger at 5AM and just hammered the phone all day long. Just before I put it back on the charger at 10:45PM it was down to about 15% (can't remember the exact percentage). And I used the hell out of the phone. Calls. YouTube. Hangouts messaging. Facebook Messenger. Facebook. GMail. Corporate email (Exchange). Podcasts (audio). MP3 playback (Poweramp). All day long. My configuration at the time was CM11S XNPH25R with Google Now Launcher and two active widgets (Podcast Republic and Poweramp). I think I may try this again soon to see if the battery life has changed significantly under XNPH30O.

Well for me ~ i never use high accuracy and I leave wifi on whether i'm near a hot spot or not. I occaisonally turn bluetooth on and off to sync my fitbit but rest is
2 exchange accounts
gmail
fb
hangouts
videos while commuting
google music etc.. and i still had awesome battery life. 6+ hours and close to 2 days according to my screenshots several pages back.

This morning it looks fine...I left it on my window sill today, I'll see what happens. I'll probably keep the phone either way, and give it some time and RMA in a few weeks if it doesn't settle.

Anyone have experience with nano-micro adapters? Need one for my SIM.

I bought the SimDevil kit DLeRium recommended earlier in the thread. I want to keep my nanosim card active as I have a Moto X that I like to use occasionally (and my employer owns the line).

You can't Rma it for yellow band at the bottom. I dont get why it worked for some and not others. I guess my unit is just shitty. I mean the UV and sun. It even got hot in the sun and nothing was changed. You have 14 days to ask for a refund. I'm glad I can return mine. Never had this issue with any other phone and should not have to settle with it now.

So my buddy got an invite late late sunday night, ordered it and had the phone drop shipped to me! Wooo! So much for tracking down an invite.

First impressions:
Damn this thing is nice
Haven't noticed any of the yellow stuff people were talking about eariler
Feels a wee bit sluggish at times, but CM tends to do that on a fresh install

I made this observation yesterday: I updated to 30O the other day and got the incremental update that evening. I was on ART while on 25R and that persisted when I updated. Prior to the update Android OS was a low battery usage process, but in 30O it was as high as Screen on the list. I switched to Dalvik and Android OS once again resumed it's place towards the bottom of the list.

Google Play Store was a low battery usage process in both runtimes though, and that's a good thing. In 25R it was almost as much as user of the battery as Screen was. I'm glad Cyanogen fixed that issue.

Hmm I actually don't think that looks very good. Most of the time seems to be spent on standby and I generally see <1% per hour drain on my Note 3. If it had more like 3.5-4 hours of on screen time, I'd say it looked good considering the relatively long uncharged time.

I run with high accuracy, GPS, wifi, bluetooth, and LTE on.

I'm still trying to get a sense of the battery life on the OPO since I just recently finished setting it up.
