You are probably right, but in this forum we've had one person get one that he felt was insufferable. Everyone else has received a unit with little to no yellow banding. At $350 I'd be willing to take the gamble again.

Umm, there's more than 1 returning their's because of the yellow screen. I'm one of them. This phone sucks, the screen has gotten progressively worse, typing sucks, phone reboots when I answer a call, battery life isn't that great.

So you have all the issues and then some. Odd, my phone is just the opposite. Normally I am not a lucky individual...

Another coworker is receiving his OPO tomorrow, I'll report back on his experience on Friday.

Does anyone ever have an issue where the phone is on, you hit the power button and the physical buttons light up but the screen doesnt? i eventually have to reboot the phone. This has happened maybe 2-3 times in the last few days.

Also, i have two tickets into OPO about my touchscreen issues saying i want to return or exchange the phone, no reply for 5 days so far.

Took me about 3 weeks to get an rma for refund. The money still has not posted back to my account. It will take a while until you get a reply and it's a couple of days between each reply.

Patience people.... Updates will fix many things. I still don't get the battery complaints.

I can get 1-2 more hours screen time then I could with my Nexus 5.

Did you ship it or did someone come out and pick it up ?

Ghost Screen Protector

OK, this looks good but is it worth 3x the cost of the Orzly? What makes this a $28 product and not a $10 product?

I love Mime, but I don't get their pricing for their Ghost glass. It's probably a bit better than the Orzly (8-9H) vs 9H, but not 3X better. Thickness probably isn't much different and doesn't matter on phones without physical buttons.

I love Mime's Feather glass for Samsung and Apple phones as the 0.15mm thickness is far less noticeable around the home button.

Mime's policy of giving 50% off a replacement protector if the original breaks in any way is legit (I've used it), but again, you could get a new Orzly for the same price anway.

Well 3 weeks just to finish communication with OP then about another week and a half for the rma ticket to be approved.

You have both options. For pick up you pay $56 and they send someone to ship it for you. Or I just chose to use usps priority to mail it back to the US warehouse.

Thank you for the detailed answer. Oddly I'm still interested in buying one even though I feel I am pretty tight with my money (hence buying the OPO in the first place).

Even though that last update wasn't supposed to take care of the battery problem mine seems a butt load better - not as good as it was at first, but getting there - from full charge to 80% in 13 hours - light use.

I use Mime Feather Glass protectors on my Note 3 and S4 as well as my wife's iPhone. I'm completely satisfied with the Orzly protector for my OPO, even if the packaging and extras (large sticky film to remove particles, tape for the hinge method) weren't as nice.

Man... maybe I should just cancel my order? Seems like there are more issues other than the yellow banding... battery issues... touch screen issues... HMMMMM

Well mine shipped out... if I had known it was that close to my house from where the warehouse was... I would have asked if I could just go pick it up instead... it's like 10 miles away from my house. Ah well.

I actually tried to take your advice and buy another Orzly but once again I had a fulfillment time of about a month when I placed the order. Seriously? Plus I had to pay for shipping as the store was not in the Prime ecosystem bringing the cost to $16.

I cancelled that order and bought the MIME Ghost Glass for $28, I'll have it in 2 to 5 days.

I think I'm leaning more and more to replacing the OPO when the Note 4 comes out. If the Note 4 is disappointing, I may get the LG G3.

The touch screen response is a constant annoyance and while it's gotten better with the most recent updates (and probably placebo effect, but switching to ART seemed to have helped a bit), it's still a daily annoyance.

Whenever I pickup my work S4, even though the phone is occasionally laggy, the response when rapidly typing (using Swiftkey on both phones) or when scrolling through long websites is just different. Every keystroke is registered, swipes are never read as clicks.

Unless an update in the next couple weeks solves this issue in the OPO, I'm going to move on, $350 or not.

The note 4 sure will be more expensive. I am also in want of another phone. Been wanting to replace my m7. My only option is wait until nexus 6 but I'll check out the note 4.

Odd. My Orzly order was placed on August 6, and it came within a week. Amazon's estimates show that it should not have come yet:

Delivery estimate: Wednesday, September 3, 2014 - Tuesday, September 16, 2014 by 8:00pm

Tracking information not available

It might not have been as bad as it says it was.

Item(s) Subtotal: $9.45
Shipping & Handling: $5.48
-----
Total before tax: $14.93

Finally received mine. Definitely a step up from HTC M7 Missed the larger screen
How is your screen? Yellow band? Multitouch issues? I'm gonna guess neither. A coworker of mine received his OPO last Friday (me being the benevolent gifter of invites that I am) and his is flawless. That makes 4 OPOs that I have seen IRL with nary a blemish to besmirch them.

Oh and I got and installed the MIME Ghost Glass yesterday, it is so nice.

It'd be interesting if the resolution to the yellow band was by installing a UV cure step in their manufacturing line LOL.

They almost certainly already had a cure step, OPPO is not a new manufacturer. It is possible that they were rushing it and not giving it enough time in the cure stage and just hoping that it finished curing during shipping, but since people are reporting that UV curing is not fixing a majority of the cases, then I suspect that some of the yellowing that people are seeing is from the bottom edge lighting.

That would be cool but I had mine for about a month and i used UV and sunlight and neither worked so I believe its the low backlight placement and no bezel. I'm either going to get a note 4 or nexus 6. The note looks good although I never was a fan of touchwiz.

I'm glad I gave up on this phone months ago. All these issues people are having are deal breakers for me. It had so much potential too.
