Anyone experienced the 1 long 3 short beep no post P5B-Deluxe issue?

When I first got my system up and running I was having problems with this issue. I set PCIe to 96 and it went away.

Last night it did it again. I raised the Vcore to 1.375 and it seemed okay. I tested it with a restart and got the problem.

Usually after 3 or 4 attempts it would post. Not this time.

After 20 minutes of trying I reset the CMOS.

Still no post.

Then I remove one stick and it posts.

I have both sticks in now.

Ran memtest at 5-5-5-18 and it showed no errors.

Later I'm going to run memtest at 4-4-4-12 and see what happens.

Just wondering if anyone else has any insight into this error code?

I believe that is the memory failure beep code, but it seems like memtest worked so I don't know for sure.

try swapping sticks in the dimm modules...I have experienced in the past where one of my modules did not like to go in the first dimm slot while in DC mode...Dont know why but it did, eventhough it was fine in other boards...

Also try booting just one stick...

What are stock volts for those sticks? Sometimes I have seen them needing a touch more in DC mode on certain boards, and especially after you start to OC the overall system.

I'm really having problems getting an overclock here. Weird how for over a month I was rock solid and now I'm having problems.

I can run the memory at 400 4-4-4-12, 2.1Volts at default cpu speed using the divider but as soon as I start to overclock I get that weird memory error.

Default for the Corsair Twinx 6400C4 is 2.1 Volts, which is what I have it set at.

I'm running BIOS version 0614.

Should I update to something newer?

Duvie,

Do you know the logic behind how the "Auto" Vcore setting works? It seems as though it somehow knows how much voltage to feed the cpu since when watching cpuz the voltage will swing quite a bit from idle to load. As much as 1.15 at idle to 1.273 under load. Those are the lowest and highest numbers I've seen just watching it for a bit.
