Don't do it unless you like annoying your freinds/family about knives and try to sell them overpriced items. If you liek doing that, then you should go for it.

It's a job where you only make money by begging all the friends you know to buy a fairly good quality knife/set of knives from you.

It's not worth it. Vector Marketing needs to die.

yup. they are offering 15 dollars an hour where i live...not even worth that.

i remember when i first saw that sign... i was looking for summer work after i graduated high school, and i saw a sign that said "$12/hr." needless to say, i was hooked, and i went to the first interview. i "passed," and my when i told my mom she told me there was no way in hell i would become one of those knife salesmen. since then, my family has been accosted by well meaning friends of mine and my sisters who want to sell my parents premium cutco knives. we have about $500 worth of steel from them now.

i did it, and it wasn't worth it. it's not a scam, per se, but the company is set up so that you sell the product to your close relatives and friends first to "practice" your routine. the knives are good quality, but definitely overpriced. that being said, your relatives will buy the knives from you (because they know you and love you ) but once you run out of relatives and go to other individuals, they'll tell you to take a hike once they learn that a complete set costs $1000.

bottom line, don't waste your time. go for a different job.

They must have been forced to change their advertising technique, because they don't advertise as X$/hr here, it's $14/15/base appt, which basicly means you get $14.15 per appointment, and they're supposed to take an hour.

Personally, if I was THAT hard up for work, I'd just go to walmart for $8/hr

And that's not even true... you get like $15 for every demonstration you give (they need to fill out a form saying you've demonstrated, and who else they can refer you to)... but that doesn't include the time it takes to find people, call them up, travel to them, and whatever other costs there are. You definitely won't be doing 10 demonstrations a day.

That's what it is... it's a MLM scam. If you know anything about MLM, they make their money from people who buy their stuff, but are trying to resell it. If you're really successful, you move up, and you do'nt sell the stuff yourself... instead, you're selling the stuff to new potential agents... and make a % of what they sell.
