we got power back at about 8pm but we are warned that blackouts might reoccur so I am not leaving my computer on for a while

Rockland county here, on Optimum Online. I was just booting up to make sure nothing happened when the PC first turned off w/ the blackouts. Rolling blackouts are expected, so if you are in the area I recommend you keep your PC off unless you have alternate power.

Just got power back at exactly 10:00 pm Eastern. I live in Oceanside, New York, which is in Nassau county. I have had power out since a little before 4:00 pm. I also have Optimum Online.

About a half hour from Albany here. Only lost power for 15 minutes, though we did have a few second long brownouts for about an hour afterwards.

I live in Oceanside, NY which is on Long Island. I got power back at about 7:30. I live in a condo development and only some of the buildings had power. Now they seem to all have power. I just got back from picking up my wife in Queens and there was no power at all in Queens and very little from what I saw in Nassau. Even most of Oceanside still seems to be without power. I guess I just got lucky.

Wow, another Oceansider. . Yeah, parts of Oceanside were getting power about 7:30-8:00. On the other side of Long Beach Road (towards Baldwin) we got power around 9:30-10:00. What part of Oceanside are you, over by the Valley Townhouse or Alhambra, or somewhere else? Also, some parts still don't have power (mainly the branches off of Park Avenue that I know of).

Saratoga Area? I'm in Saratoga, and I'm not sure how long power was out here, but it couldn't have been too long, as my UPS kept my computer up the whole time.

Buffalo here, actually Lancaster if you know the area. Very strange in these parts, one side of the street will have power and the other won't.

At work (in Elma) went down then spiked then went normal. Didn't even hit my second level of battery backups. Came home and noticed everything reset, except my computer. But 4 cable stations are out. FOX being one and I can't watch Simpsons tonight! Unless it's back on, I should check.

I'm here in Oceanside Cove. I guess being near LIPA's plant must have helped although the entire complex didn't come back up right away. Most of Lawson Blvd was still out at 10:00. There were a few lights near the train station and RVC seem to be back up, but I they were down earlier when left for Queens.
