I am on my way and will be there until tomorrow. What are some good stuff to check out for kids besides the usual(city museum, zoo, grants farm)?

I'd add Magic House to the list, but otherwise you probably already have a pretty good list for the length of time you'll be here.

If you have boys they'll love the Museum of Transportation. Its a museum with trains outside and cars inside.

http://transportmuseumassociation.org/index.htm

It's pretty sweet. They have one of only a few surviving examples of the largest locomotive ever built (the UP big boy). It's absurdly huge. They also have one of those crazy snowplow/blower things they use to clear 20 foot drifts of snow off tracks.

Also, I came in here to say "CITY MUSEUM!" but looks like you've got it covered. Happy to know that people not from Stl are starting to know about the place.

And before I forget, Laumeier Sculpture Park is a great place to walk around if the weather isn't too bad. Definitely worth checking out. (http://www.laumeiersculpturepark.org/)

I Just was in St. Louis.... We went up in the arch. It was quite amazing..

However it snowed the night before and when up in the arch I looked down and behold someone drew a massive dick.

Check out Casino Queen on the East Side!

There's a giant ketchup bottle about 20 minutes east of st. louis in Collinsville

A really cool hamburger/shake joint just opened up downtown. It's called 'Bailey's Range'.

City Park is nice, but it's kinda cold. In the summer it's loaded with fountains that kids play in.

Depending on your time, and the weather, you might want to visit the Missouri Botanical Garden.

http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/

I haven't been there for quite a while, but it used to be a good way to spend a day or a half day. If you go, be sure to bring a camera.

Best of luck.

No matter what you do, make your stop for lunch at Pappy's!

Probably the best BBQ I've ever put in my mouth.

Pappy's is great but the lines are often long.

Same chef, same amazing quality, shorter lines at Bogart's.

Tons of great suggestions in this thread. The Botanical Gardens are amazing, and if you're in that neck of the woods, be sure to eat at O'Connels which is only a few blocks away. Also a short drive from the Gardens is the Shaved Duck, one of the best meals I've had in years.

I'd also second the Transportation Museum if you have boys, but sadly, no food to recommend near there. Best bet would be to drive elsewhere for food - probably back toward the mid-metro area. Tons of great spots in and around Clayton as well.

If you end up in the Loop, near Washington University, either hit up Pi or Blueberry Hill, both on Delmar.
