"wired is better" is most definitely not "just hype". I see people before me say that they aren't good enough at games for it to matter, but quite frankly I am good enough at games and I can clearly tell you that it does matter. I used to compete in a TFC clan on three leagues and I can tell you that I would never use wireless on a rig that I use to compete with. The absolute worst is when a key simply cuts out for a split second causing your character to stop moving and you consequently aren't dodging properly, etc., and you take a death or a lot of damage because of it. Even when simply typing a letter, email, or what-have-you... I've found that occasionally a key press won't be sent properly and when I proof-read what I've written I'll find missing letters in words... although this can be from myself actually not typing the letters, I've found that this happens all of the time when I use wireless and almost never seems to be the case when I am using a wired keyboard. As for mice, I've mostly seen a slight lag... but that's about it, really. I'm a PC tech and IT consultant for a living and I love the wireless keyboards/mice, but I can also tell you that I've tried and tried these things while scrutinizing over anything with them that I thought might help but the problems with the keyboards are simply inherent in the technology from what I've been able to see so far.
