Why not? But seriously, I like my internet, and there was one time that my FIOS went out, thankfully, I had just signed up with Comcast the month before, so I had a backup.

You have FIOS already and signed up for lifeline sprint hotspot internet as well?? I'm with everyone else, why do you need both? You're using a service that's designed for others with very low incomes that can't afford wired broadband and is subsidized by tax dollars. Is there something we're missing here??

Yeah. Are you suggesting, that because someone can get an obamaphone, that they shouldn't be allowed to also pay for a phone too?

And, speaking of obamaphones and lifeline broadband, this service is run by a non-profit entity. This is NOT "lifeline broadband", that specifically doesn't start until Dec. 2016. As I linked the FCC documentation in the other thread.

I assume part of the answer to the previous question is that you’re a non-profit, but do you get any subsidies from any government programs?

We are not currently getting any subsidies from the government.

So, I am assuming that "not getting any subsidies", means this this is NOT "taxpayer-funded".

No, we're suggesting if they can afford their own phone, they shouldn't be getting an Obamaphone. Most of your posts have some tie in with having a low income so with that in mind, the idea of paying for multiple internet connections would seem to be a poor financial choice to us.

Yes, that's exactly it. If you are in the financial situation of being able to afford a regular phone, you shouldn't be getting an "obama" tax subsidized phone. Wake up! Nothing in life is free.

Even if it is from a nonprofit, you're taking resources away from someone else that does actually NEED what you're using.

If you're actually in as low of income as your posts have said you are, you certainly shouldn't be buying another internet connection "just to have it". That's ridiculous.

There is also a value in Wasting less time ""Blubbering"" on the Internet and finding a better
job (or a second one) to Generate more income.
