anyone gotten a US passport lately?

Has anyone gotten a new US passport lately? The website says they're running under 4 weeks but I'm wondering just how realistic that is and if for an early september trip I need to be forking out the extra cash for the quick option.

Mine took about 1.5 weeks back in April. I also paid for expedited.

If you are REALLY worried then yea pay for the quicker turn around. But right now we have a hiring freeze on hiring new passport spec. as there is not enough work and turn around times are very low.

I had the forms all filled out and all my documents, went into a post office, they took the photo there and everything, came in the mail about 10 business days later....

Took about hte same amount of time for me and I did not get it expedited.

To the OP. If you need it ASAP< get it expedited. What is the big deal?

i did mine in end of feb, took like 3 weeks.. friend did his june something and also got it in 3 weeks...

My brother just got his... took less than 2 weeks (close to 1 week I think). I need to get mine.

I renewed mine in Feb of this year for $75 and about 3 weeks with regular mail.
