i didn't buy it but i did encounter interntional support...i didn't personally enjoy it but then again, you don't buy a laptop for it's support mainly; you buy it for what's on the inside.

it looks pretty well-speced for the prices you can get them at (don't forget to use the online coupons)

I like it, no problems so far.

My total cost came to about $1060 for the laptop alone (aside from shipping and other acessories) but originallhy the laptop was approx $1300. I found this hard to beat for the specs I configured: T2400, 1GB ram, 120gb HD, x1400 etc...

Watch for the outlet deals. I just got my e1405 today:

Core 2 Duo T5600
512mb ddr2
wxga+ with truelife

60gb hard drive

Cost was $680 before tax.

Earlier today there was one with Core Duo, 1gb ram and 100gb hd for $599...

being that I used to work for Dell for two years, I used to be biased towards them. After using them at work now and buying some for home I realized the following.

PRO:
CHEAP! They put a bunch of $$ components in them for a very good price
They usually have excellent touchpads

CON:
Heavy! I have owned both an E1405 and E1505 and they were both fairly heavy

Cheap plastic and fit

Support is great as long as NOTHING EVER GOES WRONG! If something should go wrong you will be forced to endure countless hours of tech support from someone who barely speaks english. They REALLY REALLY make you prove something is wrong before allowing a replacement (running Dell Diagnostics...no error code, no replacement)...getting them to fix something is like pulling teeth.

HOT! These laptops tend to get very hot and should not be used on your lap, or on your desk without a notebook cooler.

THE BOTTOM LINE: IBM/Lenovo & HP make far superior products. Particularly IBM/Lenovo..their laptops are amazing. You will pay much more for the same specs as a Dell, but the built quality and tech support are far superior!
