Teen accused of drunken driving in Edens crash that killed girl
A Skokie teenager was charged Thursday with aggravated drunken driving in the death of another 17-year-old girl who was riding in her car Wednesday morning when it rolled over an embankment on the Edens Expressway near Cicero Avenue in Chicago.
Tests show that Olga Lyubimova's blood-alcohol content was over the legal limit and that PCP and marijuana were in her system, law-enforcement officials said.
Asia Parfenova, also of Skokie, was home for the holidays from college in San Francisco when she was killed in the one-car crash.
Lyubimova and front-seat passenger Boris Zhuravlev, 18, of Buffalo Grove were being treated at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. It is unknown when Lyubimova will be able to appear in court, said Illinois Police State Trooper Mary Leonard.
Authorities said her bail was set at $300,000.
