Anyone have an experience with any of the robotic lawn mowers out there?

Has anyone? They look pretty cool...not sure how well some of them would handle my hilly and reasonably large lawn though. And I doubt I'd want to drop 2 grand to find out. Still, lawn mowing seems like an excellent job for a robot.

They're garbage. My friend bought one thinking itd be a time saver. Nope. Setup takes forever as you have to run wire all over the place to tell it the border of your property, where gardens are to not mow over, etc.. Even then, the thing is always getting stuck or missing areas.

Not to mention if you're not watching the thing constatly someone could just walk off with it.

I'm fairly sure that falls under natural selection.

As a kid I think even I would understand that the big buzzing robot cutting grass is probably not something to pick up and play with.

Whenever I used to mow the law in the riding mower, kids would always run the hell away, lawnmowers:kids::vaccum cleaners:dogs.
