Anyone have an XFX 5900 ?

I am wondering if the retail version ships with 2.2ns chips, or 2.8ns chips ?

the leadtek LX comes with 2.8ns and so does the NON power pack ultra gainward

the cheapest 5900 with 2.2ns is the BFG

I was wondering that as well. Checking XFX's website, the memory speed is 800MHz DDR. Therefore, either this card has 2.2ns memory or they're overclocking 2.8ns memory.

that seems too much of an OC for 2.8ns. i'm willing to bet this is 2.2

They're pretty cheap from GameVE.com right now, too. $198 right now and 3% off with coupon NEWLAND for a total of $192.06 shipped. Pretty sweet if it is 2.2ns memory.

Mine arrived Friday. This is one nice card Not as neat as the bfg, but it is cheaper !

Dang, the IQ is MUCH better than my ti4400 Could have been the drivers going from a ti4400 on 44.xx drivers to a 5900NU on 52.16 , but this is the frist time ever I have been happy with a videocard. Resolution and monitor sync rates are all perfect. This has never happened before. I am one happy camper

I got mine thursday, has 2.2ns ram, works great, a bit on the Huge size, it's like 1cm away from my mobo battery.

i just got my xfx 5900 non ultra last week. its performing better than i expected. with the cool bits reg fix im at 450 gpu and 850 mem clock.
i scored 38's in aqua mark3.i couldnt be happier.

I can't seem to get my coolbits to work it came on installation CD, can someone help me, i really want to overclock it a bit, see what i can get out of it.

My eVGA 5900nu came out of the box clocked at 400/850. Mine has the 2.2ns mem. 800 sounds too slow for some reason. . Why would XFX underclock the card? Sounds a little fishy to me. It could be O/C'd 2.8, I mean it is possible isn't it? Anyone?

I believe one of evga's selling points was that their card was clocked higher right out of the box than what nvidia calls for on 5900's.

It is 2.2, i didn't check but someone on FW did, and they showed pics of it, and it was same card as i ahve.

I have the bfg 5900 is it a good card and also I want to get a ddr 400 motherboard any suggestions or right now I have fsb 266 mb with xp 2400 and 80 gb hd 8mb with 256 memory is it worth updating this board if yes with what? oops one more thing when I use 3dmark 2001 it shows my video as 0 instead of 128 any reason why?

Just keep your system how it is right now. xp2400 is plenty fast. You might want to at least upgrade your memory to 512mb. That's about it. The only time I'd think of upgrading would be when the 64bit processors are a lot cheaper like in the $100 range.

ok ty here are my 3d 2001 marks which are terrible I was getting 10231 with a ti4200 what happened with 5900 I thought I was going to see at least 13000 with this motherboard and my video memory says 0 instead of 128?

Actually my XFX came clocked at 400core 850 mem according to coolbits default setting


Autodetect is 460 core / 970 memory :Q

I ordered mine from gameve.

I am thinking of getting this from newegg.com as it is for 199$ only. I spent 220 dollars on a bfg asylum 5900 ubt it turned out defective with artifacts so i am thinkin of returning it and going for xfx. IS this a right step to take???

I haven't had a tremendous amount of luck with getting the 2.2 ns chips that came on my Gainward 5900u over 945 Mhz. 950 Seems to be just barely unstable. I'll get a game crash every 6 hours or so. It's a shame, I wanted 475/950.

nope runs perfectly. coolbits autodetected it at 519/1000. Cooled on air

Ran 2k3 loop overnight for burn in w/o crashing or artifacts.
