The problem is not getting through the quitting period, but the ability to realize, a month, half a year, or 2 years later that you can't just have one for old times sake or to reward yourself for doing so well or because you are feeling down. Good luck.

Yep, that is what I had to do with coke. I could actually tell that I was becoming addicted to coke so I swore it off and have never had it since. A buddy of mine that I was taking it with didn't quit when I did, and it took him pawning all of his stuff off to buy more before he eventually did. I've had it offered to me many times, and it is HARD to turn down a free line, but I simply won't let myself touch it again. I think it's going to have to be the same way with pills and pot. Not even an every once in a while.

Damn, looks like you hang out with the wrong people. Stay out of the druggie scene, dude, don't let chemicals control and ruin your life.
Whether or not one chooses to do use drugs of any sorts, chemicals(and electricity) are life.

I meant abusive chemicals, such as drugs.

Drugs are your friends. Keep smoking, injecting, snorting, or inserting. Society needs you to balance out all the really successful people in the world.

Hi Casanova.

You will quit when you want to quit more than you want to do the stuff.

Sounds like you are ready.

Number 1, dont put the stuff in your mouth, that way you cant swallow it or inhale it.

Really, simply dont put it in your mouth.

Number 2, dont just think it is wrong, change how you believe, believe it is wrong and you wont want to do it.

You will succeed :sun:

Regards.

Richard.

I thought pot was supposed to be non-addictive? Or are you addicted in the social sense that you feel like you have to to fit in?

Weed is very addictive. Best of luck with quiting OP. Trust me it is very hard, but you won't regret it. Try eating carrots, it helps.

i know someone who stopped smokign cigarettes cold turkey. You have to find some inspriation to draw some will power. For him it was his kids and he went worked out to take out anything he had to release to the point where he was exhasted and took a nap.

Weed does not have a chemical addiction but it does carry a very strong mental addiction. Some people can quit easily, but many people relly on it to maintain a certain level of normalcy.

Yes. Not pills, but yeah.

The first 2-3 days are the worst. If you can get through that, you're home free pretty much.

You have no idea what you are talking about.
Mild at most. The gov doesn't even classify it as very addictive (mental)

Last month, I completely changed my diet around. No more junk food no more sugary stuff. In my case though, it wasn't hard at all. But I did it mostly for health reasons so that is a great motivation.

I know from first hand experience how strong the addiction can be. You may have been fortunate enough to be able to quit easily. You may still even smoke. But I have a couple of good friends who are very addictive and it is really hurting them. I am not trying to talk bad about weed. I just hate it when people have this fairy tail idea about it.

I agree.

If you get a headache or really "jones-y" (cravings), take a nap. You will find it is pretty easy to doze off the first few days after you quit toking. Whatever you do, don't sit there and think about it. Keep yourself busy and you'll be fine. Some studies have suggested that heavy users slip into "marijuana psychosis" after prolonged periods of regular use and go on to say that this could take up to two months to come out of. Not sure if I would put much weight on pot studies, but that's just me.

Remember also that pretty much more than anything out there, this drug is best enjoyed when used seldomly. This might translate to once a week, or once a month, or a couple times a year. Moderation is the key.

Of course, your choice to eliminate it completely is also a wise one. Stay on track, and best of luck to you.
