I just installed the AVC Sunflower from PC POWER and COOLING and it feels a little loose. i used the brackets that were on the motherboard because it looked identical to the one that came w/ the AVC.

anyone else have this experience?

Mine seemes loose until I put the fan/top clamp on and lowered those "handles". Now, I can't move the HS at all.

I got my "AVC" from the same place. Does yours actually have AVC stickers/brand anywhere? Mine didnt.

The AVC sticker is on the underside of the fan. So if you see the sticker, you put the fan on backwards.

I just put mine on last night (from PCPC). I felt it fit abosutely perfect. Not too much tention in clamping it down, but not too little either. I also used the bracket that came with my mobo.

On mine, I had an AVC sticker on the bottom of the fan and the letters "AVC" were also engraved in the plastic cage. I have no reason to believe this is not an AVC Sunflower. Sweet deal for $19 shipped. I also like the short length of the fan power cord. I have used other units that supply way too much cord that just gets in the way.

Hehe, didnt think to look UNDER the fan lol. After putting the levers down, i couldnt move the HS at all, but it would move side to side otherwise. Im running 46C under full load so I guess its fine. Also, I took the bracket off the MB and put on the one that came with the HSF just because I was paranoid. -max

Question on the AVC Sunflower. Does it comes with the therma tape on the bottom of the heatsink like the Intel Heatsink does? It was a pain cleaning up that tape on the Intel heatsink.

The "AVC" comes with a little clear "tape" to protect the copper base. No thermal tape. It comes with the generic thermal goop though in a blister pack.
