Only in most states; If I recall there are 2 or 3 states that allow 8. Mine only allows 6.

Edit: Just found that North Carolina allows 8 digits.

Speaking of vanity plates... there's a dude here in town with "BLOME" on his; and another plate that made headlines in CA read URAPNES.
