Can you say, a dime a dozen? The world has become very conservative, post 9/11. Most people will no longer trust anyone, calling them on the phone, asking them to invest.
I'd never give a person calling me the time of day. That is what most, investment bankers, stock brokers, telemarketers, etc, face these days.

Thats not to say it cannot be done.

What's it pay? Be prepared to make what most realtors make in the first few months...nothing. This is a business that takes time. If you can sustain yourself for several months, at the end of a year, you might make 50 grand. If you get into 2 years, you might make $75k. If you can make it for 5 years, you'll probably make over $150k.

wow... not sure where you are getting your info from, but it is definitely not from a very reputable source. Also, I don't think I have ever heard anyone group ibankers, stock brokers, and telemarketers together... they are not at all the same! (hint, as an ibanker, you won't be cold calling anyone).

I can't speak for consultants, but for ibanking, starting salaries (in NYC) are probably in the range of 65k + a bonus of around 10-20k for someone straight out of undergrad. It will not take you 5 years to reach 150k... you should be at that level by year 3.

Anyway, be prepared for some crappy hours (70-90 hours a week) doing some terrible grunt work.

its a lot, but u also work 60 hour weeks if you're lucky.
