Anyone heard of Snoopy?

I have a netgear wireless router hooked up to a cablemodem. I have a home network and also have an office computer I use at home so I see both networks when I search my network. One day recently I saw an additional network listed (workgroup) with a device "Snoopy" listed. It also showed up on my router list of attached devices. I could not access the "network" it was on. Today I looked and it's gone. Any idea what's happening and if I should be concerned?

yes you should be concerned it sounds like some else is using your wireless lan.

you need to turn on WEP and MAC filtering to secure it. read the docs that came with the router but sounds to me like its wide open to abuse.

Another option is to use Airsnare,it allows you time monitor network users real-time via mac address, and to let them know you are watching them.Maybe also gather some info on them at the same time.Then do what Fuzznuts said.

option two: you had wep enabled but not mac checking;
answer:They cracked your wep key; So enable mac

Yeah..and change the WEP key every few days if they still get in...I forgot how long it takes to crack the 128bit one, but it isn't that lnog....
