I'd be wary of buying a NSX that old. For one, it is a "high tech showpiece" so if anything goes wrong be prepared to pay up the nose for it. Also, since it is a sports car who's to say the previous owner(s) drove it like granny? Course, the latter is an issue with any sporty car. I forgot where I read a good article about used NSXs. I was looking into one a year or so ago and figured out my money would be better spent on an engine swap for my Accord. Plus I'd have >$20,000 for something else.
Well, I've looked over the specs and features list and there isn't any excessive technology in it. I don't see anything unproven at all actually. And supposedly the NSX is the most reliable of the near exotics. However, I hear ferraris basically need a new engine around 30K miles, so I wonder if the NSX suffers from that sort of problem.
As for the hard driving, I'll just have to accept that the car was probably driven hard at some times, but that doesn't necessarily doom the car never ending breakage, especially if the car was given an aggressive maintenance schedule to match.
I have some acquaintances that are into older near exotic cars and they don't really have problems with breakage. People simply don't abuse cars that cost almost 100k new.
