If I may ask what are your payments per month, how long is the loan and what is the interest rate? Did you lease or buy? Also how much did you put down, trade ins, etc.. Finally what model did you purchase? Touring, Euthusiast, Base?

I'm just asking because I love these cars and I might purchase one when I graduate from college. My parents are going to help me.

thanks.

Why? If you're saving for the house you could easily get a 350Z right now.

Yea that might be an issue. I'll be 35 years old in September and I have zero points. If I had to guess I'd say my car insurance will be close to $2000 I live in NJ btw.

Without answering the car question because plenty of info can be found elsewhere I will say that I hope you have planned your credit situation accordingly. They usally don't let Daddy cosign on 30K cars.

bought last month, manual enthusiast, 31.5k out the door, ~$9k down, $23k financed for 5 years @ 3.9%, payments about $450 a month, insurance $100 a month.
Pay for it youself, your parents shouldn't have to help you buy a car that you really don't need....

edit: monthly is about $430, I dont' know haven't gotten my first payment yet, they gave me 90 days no payments also.

Thats cool. I don't want to buy a house at this point in time. Maybe in 5-10 years when I'm more established in my career.

I have a sweet apartment at the moment. It's cheap as I only pay $450 per month and electric is $35 per month. Everything else is covered.

I hope that's a typo... you're 35 years old and you're going to ask your parents to help you out in buying a new car?

35?

Yep. I worked for the post office for a number of years before I decided that I wanted to go back to college. I quit a job where I was making $20.00 an hour. Now I make $9.00 an hour working as a midnight security guard. My social life seriously sucks and I do get depressed at times. But it's going to be worth it, especially when I graduate from college with my special ed degree this winter.

Also.. my parents are only helping me with this transaction. I don't mooch and ask them for money. I'm self sufficient and that's how I like it.

You guys would be surprised because there are a lot of older people who are attending American colleges.

It's going to be part of a graduation present. I don't see anything wrong with this as all there going to do is help me with the down payment. That's it.

That is cool. Its funny how most people think the "career" they start out of college is the one they will stay with. Most people change career fields completely at least once in their lives. It is also funny people see 35 as ancient. You know your credit and it is pretty easy to guestimate an intrest rate. Given that decide what payment range you are shooting for and plan the down payment accordingly.

It's nothing special... slow, naturally aspirated, doesn't handle as well as the competition. The only positive is that it has a pretty low drag coefficient.

Getting a new 350Z shouldn't hurt.

Yea. At the moment I'm driving a '97 Nissan Altima w/ 125,000 miles. Great car but it's getting a little long in the tooth. I'm not complaining.

If the 350z is out of my price range my next choice would either be the Altima or the Sentra. The 1.8 Sentra would have the sunroof.

I drove a 350Z and I didn't drive it. A little too unrefined for my tastes, but still a great car.

Yep.. 35 isn't old. Sure I'm not 21 anymore but who says young forever? Anyway what was I suspossed to do? Stay at a job that I hated for the rest of my life? No thanks because I don't plan on missing life. My brother is a mailman and he likes what he does. I hated it with a passion. I'm not going to be like most people and work a job that I hate because I'm making half decent money. I'd rather put a bullet in my skull.

Yeah seems you weren't cut out to be a mailman. Historically when they get frustrated they shoot other people.

I'm 24 and I just don't feel right asking my parents to help me buy a car that I don't really need. If I really needed a car and need my parents help in buying it, I would just buy a civic.
