Anyone here ever have a little Gamer Rage?

I just recently purchased Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. What an amazing game!! But be warned it does offer a challenge and a very good one at that. Not even 30 minutes into the game I spend the better part of 2 hours just to beat Robo dog I like to call it. It took a long time but I kept my cool at least. Well later on I stumble upon this boss called Monsoon. Oh man, it's embarrassing to say how long it took me to pass this challenge. Well what you know I finally did it. A little ways further into the game and now I'm on this Elevator and these little B$%$% with 3 legs along with at least 4 other guys won't let me get off before it crashes. With probably no more than 5 try's I have became extremely mad and crush my keyboard over my knee. (I'm playing this game with a controller) FWIW,I don't think I've raged like that since playing Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox. ()


So who else has had the pleasure of playing this game? Or perhaps has exploded while playing another title?

Netcode in BF4 can make me rage.

Had a game recently white screen crash on me,was driver related but it pissed me off so badly i was pretty much making up my own words as i went along.Finally fixed that problem and all was ok. But i was beyond pissed lol.

Nope.
I went into a boss with 1/5 of my HP left in Muramasa on Wii. Lost.
Rather than go back, and purchase potions and easily kill the boss, I spent the next 3 hours learning the boss movements perfectly so that I wouldn't need to use money at a shop. Why? No reason, I just felt it was possible and did it.

I don't get frustrated easily and enjoy a challenge though. Love hard games and love making them even more difficult. Ninja Gaiden was hard but that just kept me glued to the TV. I think I spent 8+ hours trying to beat bosses on that game and just kept at it.

What makes me "rage" is games like Dota. Mixing a player base who played this game for years straight, with a brand new player base who had been playing lol and just wanted to try a "New" Moba just killed the genre for me. Player mentality is vastly different, I rarely ran into these "for fun" people and now they're everywhere. Casual players who just like the micro transaction costume party these games become.

So fighting games it is since almost every other gaming genre has went as main stream as humanly possible.
Ninja Gaiden fell off vs God of War because players were turned off about how hard it was (Many people even admitted to returning Ninja Gaiden in a recent thread because it was too hard).

Basically what makes me rage is that I want things to be as challenging as possible and they're not.

The best rage is from repeated failure at something simple that eludes you for some reason. Or just raging at no jump in a remake or sequel to a game that had jump in it.

I have that issue, but fortunately my PC is in my bedroom, so I have enough sanity (most of the times) to turn around and start hitting my bed's mattress instead of my keyboard. It only takes some 10 seconds of hitting it to cool off.

I have no idea why this thread exists. Just because I have yelled at video games when I die, accused the games of cheating, slammed down a hand on my mouse and broken it, thrown a game controller down in frustration, and used language that would make a sailor blush is really no reason to ever assume I had gamer rage. I was just expressing my emotions at the moment.

Best troll moments are the 40mm and Carl Gustav kills in BC2,i have killed quite a few people with those weapons and people get beyond pissed lol.

I don't get angry often at all, but I can remember shaking the controller and going errrrrrr a few months ago. Was playing dragon age inquisition and my AI team mates kept running into AOE and dying. Happened on a long boss fight and I got a little mad.

When I was younger I liked to play racing games and rubber band AI was always a furious thing to deal with.

learning how to play quake cost me a mouse. they blame razer for bad build quality but im sure if i hadn't punched repeatedly the top of my abyssus, the buttons would still work.

also once in BLR forgot i have mic on and started punching the table and raging. whole server stopped playing for like, a few seconds.

This. You are spot on with your first sentence. Cyber wolf and Monsoon handed me my ass more times than I can count but I hardly broke a sweat. But once I got that elevator that should have been a cake walk getting off of and I just couldn't I freakin exploded.

And the more I think about it all my Gamer Rage comes from the simple things not the difficult bosses.

It's probably been almost a decade since I had a fit like I had did last night. In fact, I'm not one to rage I usually just turn it off. So my determination to continue and really get invested into a game says a lot about this amazing Metal Gear game.

Not as bad as I used to be...but never to the point of destroying keyboards, controllers etc. As pissed off as I've been at games, I never gotten to the point of shelling out money for rage replacements.

My last "rage" moment was fighting this guy on my recent FFXIII playthrough. Lead character was killed from 75% health when the boss had <25k hit points left (starting at 3.6mil and he recharges once from 1/2). Was done with that for a night.

I would rage in BF all the time. And I used to take ranked racing in Burnout Paradise (PS3) very seriously. I actually did chuck a controller at a wall when I was winning a race against a couple guys in the top 20 and I hit some invisible jaggie and wrecked with the finish line in sight.

I havent broken anything but I have been known to go off the deep end and into some major cursing fits in everything from BF4 to Bejeweled. LOL

I've had some angry moments, most recently with Spintires where what looks like a dry road all of a sudden sinks into an unseen muddy mess.... then your truck flips on its side, spilling the load of logs you just slogged across half the map. 30 minutes of hair-raising tension only to lose it all right before the unloading point... hard not to be very angry about it!

Haven't broken anything in 30 years though!! I had a buddy who used to whack the side of his CRT monitor with a wrench whenever he lost... until it blew up in a shower of sparks and smoke! (Wish I'd been there to see it!!)

I rage when people blame things on "Netcode". And then I rage that they even used the term "Netcode".

But otherwise, they are just games. I have never rage quitted or anything like that. I have gotten a bit aggravated in some especially hard parts of some games that took numerous tries to pass.

I do LOVE when I come across Ragers though. They are so fun to provoke

A problem for me is I'll rage hard, but I also won't quit on a loss. Even in something like Poker Night 2, I've kept playing for an hour or two yelling 'F you Bruce Campbell!'
