I used to have gamer rage decades ago in a few games like DAOC when I was playing seriously, just don't game myself that much these days.

I imagine the playing field was a lot smaller then, I have still ran into gamers I knew long ago and have ran into over the years from older games.

A few Clans/Guilds in DAOC in PVP it was like a soap opera, you'd get people blasting you one forums ore stating untrue things and having guild leaders refute things etc etc.

That was probably the last time I took it that seriously, even in WOW later on in PVP when going for Marshal it wasn't that involved.

I just do not play anything seriously enough these days to get crazy about it. I still think about getting my old LOTRO guys out from when it was new and trying it again, but have trouble doing it these days.

Even had a personal Guild house there for awhile with an account I started for my wife, and basically 4 houses together in one neighborhood.

Closest I ever come is yelling "You've got to be F'ing kidding me!" when I can't seem to kill my Counterstrike: Global Offensive bots.

haha yeah... About 7 years ago when I went to go purchase a new chair for my desk my wife was so confused that each time I sat in each chair, i'd tests the arm rests to see if they were sturdy by pounding my fists on them. Cause I used to rage and slam my arm rests so much that I broke my last chairs arm rests. I quit playing competitively and that quit. I usually have to step away from games that get me that way, because I lose track of real life tasks that need to be done, including taking care of my personal health. It's really easy to slip back into that lifestyle though.

I rage when people blame things on "Netcode". And then I rage that they even used the term "Netcode".

But otherwise, they are just games. I have never rage quitted or anything like that. I have gotten a bit aggravated in some especially hard parts of some games that took numerous tries to pass.

I do LOVE when I come across Ragers though. They are so fun to provoke
would you care to explain why you find "netcode" to be such a risible argument? i'm asking because i happen to be an online player and i can get quite competitive. when i have instances of packets being processed out of sync, cpu queue times or other similar netcode issues, i get quite aggravated, and i use the term "netcode" quite often.

note how i have been totally nice and not insulted you. i save that for later.

Any BF2, 2142, and BF3 veteran is well aware of netcode fucking them over. 2142 especially still has issues that were never fixed. Netcode is a completely viable thing to blame.

I have well over 1000 hours logged on BF2142 back when I was in a clan that had really good dedicated servers. I held the Lieutenant General rank for 6 months on that game. My ping was always 20ms when I was playing. It was all about who had the best connection. Living in Kansas and most of the servers that handled that game were either in Chicago or somewhere in Texas... I almost always had the best ping and knew how to make use of it. I was damn good with the gunship too... It's been a LONG time since I've played that game though... I thought they killed off the online multiplayer for that game.

I have no idea why this thread exists. Just because I have yelled at video games when I die, accused the games of cheating, slammed down a hand on my mouse and broken it, thrown a game controller down in frustration, and used language that would make a sailor blush is really no reason to ever assume I had gamer rage. I was just expressing my emotions at the moment.

lol. this.

Yeah have to admit I got upset and screamed for a few seconds in my room when I had to replay a long driving route in GTA V after failing to get to the final destination. Having to go replay a monotonous part of a game to complete the goal/mission can get on almost any gamer's nerves.

I remember playing it on PC for a couple hours and having to redo it all because I wasn't logged into Live.

The worst I've done is slammed my mouse down onto the mouse pad or table a few times. I've never actually broken anything though. I have blurted out many loud "WTFs" however.

Occasionally I get frustrated playing DOTA2, but nothing more than a WTF or "you gotta be fucking kidding me" said aloud.

I forget what mission it was, but GTA IV made me rage so hard that I threw 2 360 controllers, separate occasions. Other than that I usually just shut the game off and do somthing else.

I know that I get angry when I finally get past a hard part that I had a lot of trouble with, and then the game crashes, the power goes out, or I lose my progress some other way. That has happened far too often, and I usually try again a few times then stop playing the game altogether.

No, I don't get frustrated like I did back in the 8 bit days but rather I just stop playing it. I too also started playing MG Rising last week, after the first boss or the part where you get your mods I guess, I just didn't feel like playing it anymore. It's a good, stylized game though but didn't feel it....I have to know that feel or I'm not going to get into it.

Not since I first got a console, in 1986. (SMB was amazingly stressful).

LOL

I've had some rage episodes over the years, never broken anything myself. My brother, on the other hand...used to throw controllers quite often back in the NES/SNES days, had to buy me new ones a couple of times when they quit working after impacting a wall.

Once, I was fighting the final boss in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed when it glitched out, panned the camera below the arena, and got stuck there. I just laughed. I've accused games of cheating but never had one actually do it.

I've raged in the past. Usually when a game does something cheap. Oddly enough, I never got mad at those old "Nintendo Hard" games. Usually because death was always your fault.

I may have broken a controller once. Don't bottle up your anger kids.

Monster Hunter series is pretty much the only game that can make me do the raging demon on my controller. That and Street Fighter series.
