Anyone here ever quit smoking cigarettes?

I know a few people who've quit cold turkey. I tried it twice, but started again.

Yes. I quit. Had a cigerrtte about 3 months later and threw ot hte pack I just bought.

The only reasons people can't quit is beause:
1) They are lazy
2) they have no self discipline
and
3) they need instant gratification

BS: It's hard, but nothing that can't be easily overcome. Nicotine(sp?) is a chemical addiction, not mental. Marijuanna is a mental addiction.

Right now it has been a year and a half since I smoked, I am certain that I will never smoke again.

My parents quit w/ fireballs (to make their tounge's raw, so smoking hurt) and sunflower seeds (to keep their mouth's busy).

Worked for them for about ~15 years now.

I'm a sporadic clove smoker. Every so often I buy a pack but don't smoke everyday. Generally one or two in a 24 hr period. Basically I quit between packs. Usually takes a month or so to go through a pack and then I might wait a week or more before picking up a fresh pack. Don't want to become a hardcore smoker.

Yes, I smoked for 8 years and in the last year of smoking I tried quitting more and more until the last time I just said "Fvck it, this is stupid!!, I control myself!!" and I quit cold turkey and have been smoke free for 2 years and 3 months now.


Just have to get your mindset right is all, mine was I didn't want to die from such a dumb thing, plus it stinks and does nothing good for you.

i quit on may 25th of this year, the day before i turned 30, after smoking for 8 years. it was actually quite easy as cigarettes are more of a mental addiction then nicotine is a physical addiction.
