Living in Melbourne at the moment.

Life is good, relaxed, economy is in excellent shape, and the job market is hot.

Housing is getting more expensive and we are having water shortages, but hopefully the water situation will turn around with the flip side of El Nino.

People are polite, speak English, and you'll love the women.

Used to live there. Would love the live there again. Different city maybe; Alice Springs is not really the place you want to settle down in.

Technology is reasonable, certainly on-par with the US. You might find computer parts a little more expensive, but minimal lag time as to when things are released in the US.

The mobile phone network is something that is far beyond what the US has, but broadband Internet access is largely ADSL1, with ADSL2 slowly being rolled out.

Is that the sort of information you are after?

I am strongly considering moving to Australia. I have a buddy that started a snake milking farm somewhere around Mansfield. Man, just so far to move away from family and friends. The only people I know would be Brian and his wife. Would definitely be an adjustment.

Not necessarily. For instance, we are getting the Transformers movie on 28th June, as opposed to 3rd July in the US. Depends on the movie. If they have a world-wide release date, it will be the same everywhere.

Most of the state capitals are very good. As I said, I am in Melbourne, but you can consider Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Hence the usually in my post... the majority of movies won't be released at the same time.

It's good. Usually not too hot nor too cold.

Of the major cities I've been to down there, I'd probably rank them; (ugh, this is actually kind of hard)
