Hi Guys,

I have 2 Laptops and I want to install Snow Leopard 10.6 on either one of them. I have the retail disk of Snow Leopard and I've tried a few bootloaders with no luck. I actually need someone who knows what they are doing to help me I am willing to pay good money.

Here are the specs:

FWIW, Formatting the HD and installing first OSXx86 and adding Win 7 is much beter route to take. Adding OSXx86 to Win 7 is much more tricky, and does create a lot of Boot issues.

I've found exactly the opposite.

When using both OS's on the same drive as often will be the case with a laptop: First boot OSX installer/ disk utilities/ format GUID and partition for both OSes.

Install Windows 7.

Then install OSX. The chameleon bootloader will overwrite NT bootloader, but will boot both OS's easily with no hassles.

On the other hand installing Windows after OSX; NT bootloader will likely overwrite chameleon, so OSX becomes much harder to boot.

All this said: I now stay away from trying to hackintosh random laptops. The hassle isn't worth it, very few work all that well.

Desktops with the right hardware, absolutely, laptops, no thanks. But good luck to the OP.

@Zaap

It probably depends on our personal experience with the specific hardware.

However we both agree that you have to Format the Drive first with OSX.

I.e., One should not start with an already installed Win 7 HD.
