From what I see from reviewers this seem to be a great game... except they all reviewed on consoles.

I want to buy this game, but afraid it would run like crap like watch dogs even on beefy hardware because of their inflated VRAM requirement for 1080p. So if anyone have the game, let me know on how it run on your hardware and what settings and resolution you're running it on.

It runs fine on my computer (GTX 980 + 3570K) and my brother's computer (280x + 2500k). I use ultra textures, he uses high textures, both of us have 1080p monitors and we both run ultra settings.

According your specs, you'd be great at 1080p and almost certainly 1440p as well.

the huge vram is only if u want to run ultra HD textures, and from what I have seen, there is almost no difference I can see from comparison videos and screen shots. the devs are using the vram as storage ram damn console ports. If only the ultra makes a visual difference, but it doesn't.

fov fix finally came out 2 days ago. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Middle-earth:_Shadow_of_Mordor#Field_of_view_.28FOV.29 have fun not getting a headache while you play.

On a 290X its going to run more then fine, It runs perfectly fine on my 7970 with Ultra HD textures as well. 1920x1080 here.

anyone here tried running on a 1440p monitor?

Surprisingly my 7950 is still hanging in there at 1440P, the auto settings are a mix of High and Max. Looks quite good and no noticeable fps issues even with a whole stronghold of Uruk mobbing me.

I run between 20 to 30 fps on a PhenomII X6 1090T at stock clock with 7850 2GB on high on my 3600x1920 eyefnity setup. IMO it runs pretty well.

2x GTX770 2GB, running on High settings at 2560x1440. It runs just fine even when there are tons of orcs on screen.

Tried on Ultra and I'd say that the quality difference is only apparent when standing still and even then it's fairly minor between High and Ultra. Not worth the FPS hit for sure but more power to those who have gobs of VRAM to run it.

780gtx, on ultra it will lag when moving the POV over large landscapes..
Only happens on those large scenes, but enough for me to lower it to high.

Beautiful game!

I dont get the vram requirement, I turned textures all the way up on my 780's, and theres no difference in performance between ultra and high. I havent played much of the game yet though.

did you actually download and install the ultra textures pack? the ultra option is already there but of course does nothing until you install it...

I get between 45 and 50 fps with everything on high or ultra and high textures. It takes up all my vram.

Edit: running at 1080p. The built-in benchmarks gives me an average of 77fps but I never see that in game.

Does it support SLI?

Kind of, you have to use nvidia inspector to activate FEAR3 bits to get it working. I'm running 2x970's and get between 90-100fps with everything maxed at 1440p. Ultra textures cause a bit of stuttering though, so I dropped them to high and didn't notice a difference.

One 970 hits around 60fps at max settings at 1440p.

Yup, benchmark is not representative of the game. It says I get 110fps on the benchmark with 1440p maxed, but I get closer to 90fps in game.

Or you can just add a profile for the game and set "alternative frame rendering 2" for SLI. Apparently "proper" SLI support will come in a patch according to the latest patch notes on Steam.

I got SLI to work, but I needed to change the mode to AFR 2. That was all I did. Doubled the frame rate.

Bear in mind you have to exit the game and restart for texture changes to happen, despite the game not notifying you to do so. Otherwise there is no change in video or system memory used.

Yeah that seems a bit strange. Possibly a bug?
