Anyone here not drink in college?

While I'm only a freshman (and still underage) I don't plan on drinking at all. Yeah there's the liver getting mummified and my personality going all out of whack assuming I get drunk, but the real bottom line for me is $. Alcohol costs money, and I am not a goldmine right now. I'll probably be living paycheck to paycheck once I get out of school, but I want that period of my life to be as short as possible. Even if I had money, I'd spend it on other far more worthwhile things... like an xbox and a TV

@OP: I'll be graduating in May, and I don't drink. It doesn't really appeal to me. Other people do, I don't have a problem with it.

...because remember kids, everyone that drinks turns into a dirty slacker with a bad job, and anyone that has sex before marriage gets the herps. Or AIDS. Or both.

I'm a Freshman in college (Soon to be Sophomore) and I don't drink. I go to parties with friends who do sometimes and hang out and talk and stuff, but I don't drink. You would be surprised how many people have come up to me and said "I respect you even more for not drinking" - It's really cool

I knew one guy who didn't drink a drop because it made him feel 'out of control' of himself, but he did try a couple of times to find out what it was like.

It's extremely rare for me to drink. I'm not very fond of anything that is mind-altering. Now, I don't mind the taste of a beer every once in a while, but I'm not one to drink for the buzz or to "get wasted." -- Just not me =)

I like the taste of some alcoholic beverages, but don't drink and I've just finished my third year of college. Also, I now make an extra effort not to drink after living with college students for two weeks (course out of town). Something about not whoring myself out with alcohol/drugs made and still makes me feel a million times better about myself.

Give me a choice and it's pot, but drinking has its novelties. Like I said earlier in this thread, it's all about the experience. You can have a bad time drunk or sober.

My drinking decreased every semester of college. It was awesome until I turned 21.

I try not to bother unless it's for a birthday or something.

I drink when my friends drink. Most I've had over one night is maybe 5-6 shots I think.

Oh forgot, we go for margarita Mondays most weeks, but we all usually drink one or two.

I never drank before I turned 21.

I just paid attention to school/news papers/tv shows, etc. that points out that alcohol is bad. More over, I'm not interested in trying something that's advertised to kill brain cells, impair my judgement, or give me a hangover. Oh, and the big calories in alcohol is yet another reason but really, it's just the "alcohol is bad" messages I got when growing up, coupled with stories about addiction, people getting into fights, generally acting like drunk idiots in public, physically abusing others.... you know, IT'S KIND OF BAD FOR YOU.
