You sound like quite a pain in the ass.
Sounds like someone's been toyed with while drunk, and then had the pictures posted on Facebook.

Wow! Why? Religious reasons? Don't like new things? Do you fear an adverse reaction?
I just paid attention to school/news papers/tv shows, etc. that points out that alcohol is bad. More over, I'm not interested in trying something that's advertised to kill brain cells, impair my judgement, or give me a hangover. Oh, and the big calories in alcohol is yet another reason but really, it's just the "alcohol is bad" messages I got when growing up, coupled with stories about addiction, people getting into fights, generally acting like drunk idiots in public, physically abusing others.... you know, IT'S KIND OF BAD FOR YOU.

Wow. I guess you've never smoked a joint either. Alcohol is not bad unless you abuse it. Propaganda is bad, m'kay.

So alcohol isn't a poison and even a little bit of it doesn't kill brain cells/hurt your liver?

News to me.

In the past, alcoholic beverages were needed-the pros outweighed the cons (disease ridden water vs. killing brain cells), and back then they didn't know any better. Now we do.

I'm not going to rip on anyone for drinking, it's their choice. But don't forget that alcohol is bad for you-that's why it does what it does.

nkgreen, no, I've never smoked a joint, or anything else, for that matter. Aside from not being interested, I have heart issues that could cause serious complication with illegal pharmeceuticals anyway. Before I went to college my heart doctor gave me a speech about "don't use drugs, but alcohol is okay!" "But I don't want to drink, so that doesn't really matter." "But you're okay if you do!" "I'm not going too." "Really, it's okay!" "Yes, you say it won't cause problems with my heart, BUT I DON'T WANT TO." Not really a fun conversation, since it was with a high-priced medical doctor.

Propaganda can be bad... if it isn't true. Where I come from, when it IS true, following it is PAYING ATTENTION TO THE FACTS. It's not propaganda when it's scientifically proven to have X effects, or increasing the chances of causing harm/injury or negative forms of behavior.

As to Auryg,

As to Auryg,

If you have a medical condition that is completely understandable. But for the rest of us, having a few beers or toking isn't going make a substantial difference in our brain cells or liver.

As to the propaganda, I can assure a huge majority of drinkers don't become alcoholics or abusive. People respond differently, and if you have those tendencies you need to stick to water.

I am also convinced that ALL of the propaganda related to weed is false.

Doc said I could drink, just no drugs. Doesn't change anything towards my attitude towards drinking.

I don't think that many doctors in the U.S. are going to suggest people use anything illegal.

Even though pot is far safer than alcohol in many ways...

But hey, things are changing. Very slowly.

I used to get plastered all the time in sophmore, junior year during highschool. After that I've already settled down. I don't really care to get super ****** up, as it irritates a back injury from football, and I would rather be healthier/more fit and more active versus lazy and drunk.

Being fit gets you laid on a regular basis.

Being drunk gets you laid when she's just as drunk as you.

I didn't drink at all in highschool, but did in college, maybe once or twice a week (probably getting plastered once a month). I did graduate with an engineering Degree at UCLA in 4 years, and a Master's Degree in 2 years, so I guess it didn't effect things too much. Met my wife at a party as well... I drank some really crap beer in college, though. It suckesd having a hangover when a midterm was the next day.

You guys are boring and probably sleep alone. Alcohols biggest positive when young is it gives young women an excuse for why they slept with you. If you are the doorstop in the corner not having fun then you just get left out.

Enjoy your herpes and future McJob.

@OP: I'll be graduating in May, and I don't drink. It doesn't really appeal to me. Other people do, I don't have a problem with it.

I graduated first in my class....and I had a lot of fun. If you are smart you don't have to spend all your time studying. If you aren't smart enough you should take a slightly lower grade yet actually enjoy yourself. Learning how to interact with people is as important as getting good grades. I will hire someone with a lower GPA who has a personality and had fun in college before I will hire the 4.0 wallflower. Grades don't mean everything people.

I won't be hiring you either.

i prolly have about one drink a day, sometimes midweek i won't have one. Its just what I've observed throughout my childhood. My parents always had a drink at night, whether it be a glass of wine with dinner for my mom, or a scotch for my dad, alcohol was consumed, but not recklessly so. I think my attitude towards alcohol is very healthy.

It's a great feeling to sit down at the end of a long day with a nice Martini.

I turn extremely red (with other side effects) from one can of beer. I generally avoid drinking.

I did shots one night and went to bed just fine on my own. There just happened to be a "fire-drill" at like 3am. I went down like everyone else but that was the last I remembered... apparently I dropped to the ground while I was outside with everyone. The next morning's headache made me swear I'd never do that again. The worst part was I never got any 'good' feeling from the shots so it wasn't even worth it. I've drank regular beer a few times for the social thing and never got anything from that either. Besides it tastes nasty for the most part. It's just not for me.

BTW, alcohol is the root of most evil. Think about it. Or maybe you don't have to... you just know but don't care.

not really. Just because you couldn't control yourself doesn't mean others haven't for the last couple thousand years.

Out of curiosity, how the hell do you guys dance without any alcohol?
