Anyone here not drink in college?

Since alcohol seems to be both expensive and high in calories, I hardly ever drink (and I'm still in college).

I think I can count the number of times I've had alcohol in the past two years on one hand... Just doesn't much interest me (especially with the above two strikes against it).

not really. Just because you couldn't control yourself doesn't mean others haven't for the last couple thousand years.

Out of curiosity, how the hell do you guys dance without any alcohol?

You think my example was of losing control? That's not even a good case. There's easily much worse with much worse consequences. Just 1 death is too much, and all they wanted was a good time?

Well let's take alcohol out of existence for a second. Would you be able to say many of the negative things that happen as a result wouldn't happen otherwise? How many lives ruined because someone decided to have one too many? Chicks get raped because they had too many. It's all for a good time... does it have a plus side otherwise? Worth it? How come nobody agrees it's better that alcohol not exist? Because it's fun to drink? Serious question.

I drank my first year of college.
As an electrical engineering major, that was a very bad idea.
Had to drop out, lost scholarship, all because of not being able to make class, hangovers, etc. I remember my professor telling me how talented I was and how I was throwing it all away. But I knew it all, I didn't need anyone to tell me how to live my life. I was 18 after all.

I was so angry at myself later for being so dumb.
I've never drank since then, that was 18 years ago.


Went back to school , but not till years later and at my own expense.
Still I learned a lot from the experience.

I go to Virginia Tech and I don't drink at all.

First semester of my Freshman year, I went to parties with my friends but wouldn't drink and even though people came up to me and said they really respected that, I felt out of place- even amongst some close friends. Second semester, I looked back at my MS and HS years where I went to youth group and gave my life to God-- from there, I started going more regularly to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and I went on a faith journey like something out of a story-- It's awesome

It gets boring after a while. For me it was the same feeling over and over again that made it so. Sober you experience all kinds of emotions, but when you're drunk, or buzzed, it's never a different feeling.

That's also why I gave up Mary Jane. She's like the hot twenty year old you married that ends up being a haggard that has the same qualities but none of the pizazz.
