I see no reason to upgrade my 20" Trinitron CRT that I bought in 1999, when 20" was HUGORNOUS. I mean, the picture is still great, it's large enough, and I don't like the idea of adding to the problem of landfills overflowing with computer equipment.

The only utility widescreen monitors serve is for waching movies. And quite frankly, unless you are in college or live with your parents, there is no reason to go dual widescreen.
very, very, very untrue. but you are entitled to your opinion

My PC is connected to a 24" desktop monitor and a 42" HDTV. I don't run dual-display, but running Crysis at 1080P with all graphics options on Ultra High on a 42" screen is just about the prettiest thing you'll find in gaming today.
I'd love to know what hardware you have to run Crysis at playable frame rates with ultra high settings at 1920x1080. My 8800GT sure won't come close. Quad SLI?
Q6600 @ 2.7GHz, EVGA 280GTX SSC, 2 GB RAM. I'm running the HP HQ config because I can't enable ultra quality in WinXP (but it unlocks all the DX10 features). My framerates are in the mid to upper 20s, which is debatable as to playability in a firefight, but it's worth it for the sheer eye candy this game provides at that extreme quality setting. I find myself just sitting on a cliff watching the sunset over the valley in Relic with the fog laying low over the river in the distance... just fantastic. I'm considering getting another 280GTX for SLI, at which point I should be hitting upper 30s with these settings.

best thing ever.... i cant stand using a single display anymore, PC's are powerful enough now to need more than one display, or a giant high res display at least, because multi-tasking is so much more than it used to be.

I only use my laptop's screen. I could get a monitor to go with it, but I'd rather spend my money on other things.
fail

You don't realize the amount of chicks, that saying "sit on my face" in a robot voice, brings in.
