Nawh, just one screen. I have a 19" crt, so I'd have to buy 2 new monitors essentially to make it worthwhile.

I'm fine with my 19" NEC MultiSync GX2

Never used more than one monitor. If I want more screen-space, I'll buy a bigger monitor and up the resolution.

I see no reason to upgrade my 20" Trinitron CRT that I bought in 1999, when 20" was HUGORNOUS. I mean, the picture is still great, it's large enough, and I don't like the idea of adding to the problem of landfills overflowing with computer equipment.

I'm the opposite...I can't STAND dual screens! 24" is just the right size for me...30" is just too big - the resolution is too high for comfortable reading and it's so large I have to constantly move my head to see. After spending 12+ hours at work on the computer, it gets old after awhile

The big deal with LCDs for me was eyestrain...my eyestrain went away after I switched from my 21" Trinitron CRT to a widescreen LCD monitor. But I still think CRT has the best picture...even with calibration, my 24" Dell HC LCD doesn't seem to *quite* match the Trinitron's colors

The only utility widescreen monitors serve is for waching movies. And quite frankly, unless you are in college or live with your parents, there is no reason to go dual widescreen.

very, very, very untrue. but you are entitled to your opinion

Web pages are not made for wide screens (short screens is also a valid name for them). And software development is better on 4:3s. 200 columns of text does not make code cleaner.

Depends on your use I suppose.

Never liked the idea of dual screen... Its basically like getting one big screen and placing a big black stripe in the center dividing the two (assuming they are black), very distracting

One big screen >>>>>> many screens

@home, laptop screen, been too lazy to hook it up to 32" LCD (inconvenient really, need to buy wireless keyboard/mouse)

@work, laptop+17" LCD

My PC is connected to a 24" desktop monitor and a 42" HDTV. I don't run dual-display, but running Crysis at 1080P with all graphics options on Ultra High on a 42" screen is just about the prettiest thing you'll find in gaming today.

I'd love to know what hardware you have to run Crysis at playable frame rates with ultra high settings at 1920x1080. My 8800GT sure won't come close. Quad SLI?

Q6600 @ 2.7GHz, EVGA 280GTX SSC, 2 GB RAM. I'm running the HP HQ config because I can't enable ultra quality in WinXP (but it unlocks all the DX10 features). My framerates are in the mid to upper 20s, which is debatable as to playability in a firefight, but it's worth it for the sheer eye candy this game provides at that extreme quality setting. I find myself just sitting on a cliff watching the sunset over the valley in Relic with the fog laying low over the river in the distance... just fantastic. I'm considering getting another 280GTX for SLI, at which point I should be hitting upper 30s with these settings.

Ah, yeah, I agree. I do the same thing, sometimes I'll crank it up just to watch on my 42" 1080p .. but not necessarily do the high action scenes like that. It's pretty f'ing pretty.

I use to have dual 19" displays. Then I got a single 24" display. Now I use my 13.3" laptop screen. I'm happy.

At work over the summer they had me set up with 2 monitors, and I found good ways to use both at once for my work. Now back at home I'm really missing the second monitor... I need a desk that'll fit two of them!

fail

If you want to see fail, you need only look in a mirror.

I don't need another monitor, because then I'd want a keyboard since the monitor would be bigger than my laptop's screen (and I'd therefore want to use it as the main display). Thus, the small amount of space on my desk would wither away. Also, my money is better spent on other sources of enjoyment (like photo equipment) instead of some extraneous monitor that I won't be using much anyway since I spend a lot of time away from my apartment.

I love having a nice 20" widescreen for a main screen and having all my secondary tasks on my 19" CRT. I can just scroll over and change the song, check email, whatever.
