anyone here own the Sony gold headset?

Have you had any issues with them causing lag or getting WiFi interference and cutting in and out?

I was reading up on them and people at reddit were saying the interference is bad so I figured I'd ask here for your opinions.

I found a set for pretty cheap ($50) new locally, and I was looking to go wireless. I'm using the Microsoft Xbox one stereo headset now, the $79.99 one and I want the simulated surround because i can tell the difference big time and the Sony are pretty cheap cost wise.

Tldr:
Have you experienced lag caused by the headphones
Have you had issues with them cutting in and out

I've had them since they've launched (yeah I paid $100) and I've had zero problems with them. The only time mine cut out is when I go upstairs, which is to be expected. In fact, my only complaint is the battery life and that's only because I don't want to take them off to charge. Obviously, your mileage may vary due to how your electronics are setup, but I absolutely love my set.

In short: No lag. No issues with interference or cutting in/out.

I'll bet you'll have issues in an apartment though. Almost everything wireless goes through 2.4GHz, so the 30 wifi connections that you're seeing will cause issues plus bluetooth, etc. I had problems with a wireless Logitech headset that I don't have in my house. It's not really the headsets fault, it can't work miracles and there's a ton of traffic in an apartment.

I did use a set of the sony pulse headphones before in the same area and didn't have trouble with them. I'm going to run a Ethernet cable to the PS4 today so that will cut down on that being wireless, I'll have two cell phones and a laptop running on the wifi so that shouldn't be a issue, I hope.

Instead of buying the ones for $50 locally I think I'll order them from amazon as they have a set for $75.27 right now that are factory sealed so if I have issues I will be able to return them and have a warranty verse the no receipt on the street deal i'd get for $50

I just talked to a friend that has a pair and he said he loves them. Now I'm stuck picking the black or the white set. I've got enough credit to get either one at amazon, don't know if the white is worth a extra $25 or not, but they do look good

I really like my set. The only issue I've come across is an occasional, faint pop, and only while playing TLOU. Pretty annoying when it happens... I'd still buy them again though.

Are you going to use the Mic or just the headphones? I find that both the XB1 and PS4 controllers with a pair of regular headphones works pretty well.

The thing that draws me to the gold headset is it's totally wireless, nothing goes to the controller and its virtual surround which works really good for me

I wish there was a good mic that was small and cheap like $30 for ps4. I really don't need big over the ear cans to play sports games online but the headset that came with the ps4 was bad. Its nice tho having surround sound when the crowd goes wild in nba2k, it gets you going

Got another question for you guys. The material on the headset looks like the same material that came on the original thumb sticks when I look at pictures. Is it close to the same and I wonder if the material is different on the white headset

I don't think the headset uses the rubberized material. At least it doesn't look like it does.

Had these since a week after launch and have had no issues despite the fact that I use them for all the systems I have in the house (Vita, PS4, PS3 and PC).

Just some issues with interference here and there. Not enough to be a huge concern though. Chalk it up to apartment living.

Mic quality and lack of ventilation are the major downsides for me. I did have a problem with it cutting out (pretty bad), but then I realized my router was sitting directly under me below the couch. I just moved it to the other side of the couch and everything is fine.

It's not the end all be all for headsets, but the audio is so good and setup is so easy for the price. Hard to resist.

That's what I was afraid of the mic quality and the material the cups are would bother me. I still haven't bought a headset yet.
I've been eyeballing the TB tango, I know its a pleather type cup material but the options for that set are really good. I've also been looking at the px51 which is about the same as the tango but with cloth ear cups.

I have no problem spending $150 on headphones, I can't seem to find any info on upcoming turtle beach headsets for ps4 tho. Got a bad feeling I'll spend $150 and they'll release a new set soon

I found out turtle beach has two new sets coming out that are totally wireless. One is $99 and its stereo the other is $300 that's surround. Pretty lame lineup but oh well

I haven't messed around with customizing the EQ specifically, other than the first time I loaded it up to check out how much bass these can put out. Quick test was all. I've been using the custom profiles since.

Well, all I've used is either the TLOU profile or the movie profile. TLOU sounds great, but I haven't played the game on any other setting so far. The difference I notice between TLOU and movie profiles is more bass in the movie profile. I haven't really had a variety in usage yet.
