Anyone here play "free" mmorpg's?

I have been playing this game called Martial Law for a while and was wondering if anyone else was into this kind of game? I haven't been this into an RPG since Shadow Hearts for the PS2. It is a text based, simple time-waster, but that is what I like about it. The website is martiallaw.com, check it out if you like this kind of thing. If you do sign up I am spangman_TR .

I've tried several like RYL, Knight Online, Thang, and they've all sucked. The only one that came close to being a legit game was Rose Online, but that became a Pay to Play game shortly after I started. And even that sucked for a P2P game. Free MMOs will never live up to real MMO standards.

Yeah, I have an account there. It seems to take so long to get anywhere so I just gave up. If you like that game try Martial Law...good way to pass time while nerve regenerates

Silkroad is pretty good, very similar to rose.. but i think they stopped ppl from registering, maybe preparing to go p2p? or trying to control the amount of ppl that are registering cause the 3 servers are constantly near full

hmmm...that's how mmorpg's work...they take up too much time...and if you keep playing they keep taking up even more...

Most free MMO's are crap. I want Silkroad Online and Gunz:The Duel's servers to get back online so I can finally try that out.

only free MMO i've played is UO on free shards. lots of fun but lots of time wasted too

Back when I was using Linux a lot I tried out a game called "A Tale in the Desert". It's an Ancient Egypt themed MMORPG, and one of the strangest games I've ever played. I wouldn't say the concept is strange, but the presentation is very surreal. I had no idea what to make of it, and when I played I had no idea what was going on, but maybe you'll have better luck than I.

Edit: Oh, it's not free anymore.

I played Flyff but stopped at lvl 58 simply because i do not like the way you ahve to heal now..can only use food every 4 seconds..so easy to die...forcing players to buy more expensive food to fill atleast half your hp bar.

i'm looking for a good free mmorpg too... i have guild wars, but that gets dull pretty quickly. I just tried planeshift, anarchy online and dogs of the sea (i think that's what it's called) and they all suck... Why can't any of the free developers make a freaking decent UI? They need to make a good multiplayer version of SM's Pirates!

AO was the only free MMORPG I've tried. Graphics were crappy and I got tired of grinding shortly into it. Perhaps if I had known anyone and made it a social activity I might've taken to it.

Edit: And yeah, while I played it did take up a disproportionate amount of my time. I don't think I'm cut out for that kind of game.

I've played AO and Knight Online, still playing KO actually. (when not playing WoW)

Knight Online has lots of problems but the PvP system is pretty good. I'd suggest it for anyone that wanted to try out a MMORPG for free. If anyone here does try out KO, just let me know and I'll hook you up with some decent beginner's equipment. (Orc, Beremus server, char is Frestile )
