I have two unlimited lines with Verizon. Me and my wife average 2GBs combined a month. Sometimes I'll hit 2Gbs myself if I am heavy on Netflix. She's still on 3G so I see her usage going up once she gets and LTE phone. I'll be keeping until they take it away. Skipped upgrading this year but will be paying retail for the iPhone 6. Likely be picking up a used 5 for my wife shortly. (she refuses to pay what a new retail cost is)

Doesn't it cost like little to nothing for bandwidth?

How come ATT would start to throttle speed?

Unlimited on Sprint. It sucks... a lot.

I'm willing to go back to VZ, ATT, T-Mobile and get on a non-unlimited plan.

over here the plans are crap and expensive, but one of the carriers is offering a couple of prepaid plans that peeked my interest enough to consider switching, for the equivalent of around 17 bucks a month i get unlimited mins/text within same carrier calls and 500 anywhere minutes and i get unlimited fb/email/whatsapp/twitter, or i can opt for unlimited data instead of minutes, i believe they are throttled to 64k after 3gb but i would rarely use even 1gb on my phone and for the price its pretty hard not to consider it
(this is in Mexico btw, only 2 competent carriers here)

Their 30 dollar plan is one hell of deal.

Im sticking to Verizon and my unlimited data till they pry it out of my cold dead hands

Well that $30 plan is throttled at 5GB, and you get no roaming so coverage is not very good.

Their $70 plan is not bad considering you get true, throttle free unlimited data, and once you start adding other lines it gets way cheaper than the competition.

My friend has the 30 dollar plan and he isn't being throttled. :awe:

I'm hoping that Verizon does the "upgrade and you get DOUBLE data (4gb, instead of 2), then I may just have to give up my unlimited.

I have tmobile unlimited on my note 2. First three months I averaged about 25GB of data downloaded... but now I'm on my 7th month and I probably hit about 6-7GBs only. I used to use usenet on it but I got lazy... I think I'm going to have to start up again.

T-Mobile's $30 plan throttled even before 5 GB was used up when I had it. It was great for a few months (5~7 Mbps), but one day it went down to ~ 2 Mbps and never went up again. It must have been throttling because signal strength was exceptional. I suppose they wised up.

They had something like that recently, except it was 6GB. It may have been to get unlimited data customers onto their "super fast upgrade" program, whatever it is called for VZW.

It's still in effect actually. I think they call it Verizon Max or something like that. It isn't exactly advertised on their site, but you can get it by using the Edge program to upgrade if you're on unlimited. I've been seriously considering it since I don't know how much longer I can stand my Galaxy Nexus.

Yep,

In this side of the world the unlimited data plans are behind the times and cost much more in other markets.
