Unlimited Data is such a valuable luxury that many people would rather buy a phone at full price to grand-father in the plan than to lose it via a 2 year upgrade.

I can see why Unlimited Data is necessary for people that like to use Netflix and/or Torrents. Especially with the rise of LTE networks, I can see Torrenting and Netflix as VERY popular activities.

Do any of you still have an unlimited data plan?

Many people "still" have unlimited data, I refuse to go to a carrier without it.

I currently pay $70 a month for t-mobile unlimited data, averaging 10gb+ a month without any problem.

Let me guess? Mostly Netflix and Torrents?

Torrents? I wish, t-mobile seems to block torrent apps.

A lot of music unlimited/pandora/netflix/youtube/email/web browsing.

T-Mobile LTE is like 10x faster than my landline internet, so I do most my downloading on that.

Yeah. Still holding on to it "just in case" but can't remember the last time I went over 2gb.

I do but it is throttled at 5 gb.

It is a shame a lot of users thought having one meant they could abuse the system and drop their home internet and start downloading hundreds of gb's or even tb's a month and ruined it for everyone because downloading movie torrents is an appropriate use for a phone.

I have upgraded twice on ATT (last one was Feb of last year) since they discontinued unlimited data tand still have it....is this a new policy?

I plan on getting a Note 3 in a few weeks...I am considering the Next Up option when I do it...

Wow service providers are making a killing off folks like you. :whiste:

Not as much as they make from people who have to pay exorbitant rates to use over 2GB.

I figure once the required infrastructure is built and paid for, it doesn't cost them much more to transfer 20 GB than 2. So why the highway robbery style data fees?

i'm on 3 in the UK and they have unlimited for 12.50 a month. last week they mailed out that everyones being given access to 4g once it's in their area for free too.

doesn't allow tethering (an extra 10 a month) but i'm happy with it. usually hit around 5-7GB a month.

Still on Verizon's unlimited. I average between 4-5gb per month. No torrenting. Streaming Netflix & music at the gym 3 times a week, & music at work.
Wifi at work is spotty, & in the kitchen it is hit or miss. My gym does not have free wifi, either.

Still unlimited with Verizon using the gnex. I used to USB tether but now it seems to be not working with win7, that used to be the number one use for tethering.

I'm on VZW unlimited, but I use maybe 500mb a month unless I'm traveling (then around 2.5gb).

Still on unlimited with Verizon here, updated to iPhone 5 off-contract at the start of the year. I tend to use 4-8gb a month of LTE, but then again I never turn on Wifi

They'll have to take it from me before they sucker me into one of these new plans. I'll say off-contract and buying my own devices...

i had verizon unlimited until this weekend, but i was only using 1.5-1.6 gb most months. just normal browsing and whatever.

sold it on ebay , and moved to t-mobiles 2.5GB LTE plan with unlimited edge. i could pay the extra $10 to get fully unlimited on t-mobile but i dont need it anyway. if i do in the future i can't see them removing that as bandwidth is getting cheaper

yeah t-mobile pre-paid. Which is actually a much better deal than their contracts.

at 5gig they throttle but its never been a problem for me. I dont watch HD movies on my Note 2, got a laptop for that.

AT&T throttles you after ~5GB. Verizon unlimited is true unlimited, no throttling.

Except it costs more to move to a limited plan...

I still have Verizon unlimited. Usually under 1GB/month, though hit over 2GB this month due to a couple days of wifi tethering (paid).

I had unlimited data on Fido (Canada) ages ago because it was a free trial, but balked at the $50 per month fee just for data after the free trial was over. At that time it was only GPRS too, so tethering was painful. They've grandfathered it and slowly increased the speeds though. The only problem is that they grandfathered it so that usually it was a generation behind, so when LTE arrived it remained HSPA+ only.

I also had the 6 GB plan for $30 and that always supported the latest tech, but they stopped giving credits on it. So it was always $30 (not the $25 I paid before), so I finally gave it up for an all-in-one plan with 2 GB data. It turns out I never went over 1.5 GB anyway, and the only times I'd go over 1 GB was when I was tethering, which is uncommon for me. I pay $46 per month right now for a Canada-wide unlimited anytime voice and unlimited international text plan with Visual Voice Mail and 2 GB data, but this will jump to $56 after my $10 credit expires.

We'll have to see what my data usage turns out to be with the iPhone 5S. If encroaching 2 GB, I'll see about going back to a 6 GB plan.
