I just took Statistics and Computer Science A today; it was really terrible having them back to back. Took Physics B and Calculus BC last year and got 4s on both. It was rather surprising when I got the results back, as I'd been thinking I would have a 5 for sure on Calculus but was expecting a 2 or 3 on Physics. So I really have no idea what I'll end up getting on these two.

I'll be taking the Chemistry one, aswell. My college wants at least a 3 on it for credit; hopefully I get a 4. 5 for chem is a miracle; I never did anything much in that class compared to Physics or math.

The most useful one I ever took was AP Chem - got a 5 and placed out of Gen Chem at my school. Took O-Chem first year and on my way towards earning a BS in Biological Chemistry (June 2010).

waste of time...

especially ones that colleges won't give a crap about like the social science ones. what is the rush to get college credits? college is a blast, why rush it.

No it isn't. You want those credits to place out of required or pre-req classes. It gives you more time to take interesting classes later or if you're in the interest of saving money, graduating early.

I have 10 more classes to take in order to graduate and two more years to do it in because of my AP credits. I can use my senior year to become a part time student to either spend more time working in a lab, take some grad classes in my major, or just take some cool electives.

I took:

Chemistry
Physics
Biology
Calculus BC
Computer Science AB
European History

I got a 5 on all of them, the European History was probably close, all the other ones were like by a wide margin. I went to a high school that really taught to the AP, like in my Chemistry class 23/24 got 5s, all of the Computer Science AP people got 5s, something on the order of 18/22 got a 5 on the Calculus and Physics exams.

Just took my AP US final. If the final is any indication, the AP US Exam itself with be easy.

gl. remember to pick a school that will honor AP credits- you don't want them to go to waste

sometimes that's not a bad thing.

i could have skipped out on physics and calculus, but i was glad i didn't.

Why?

Sophomores and above had their Comp Sci, Stats, and Calc tests today. Next year (sophomore year), I'll be taking AP Euro and AP Comp Sci A.

my college calc teacher went over a lot of things my HS teacher didn't cover. well above and beyond, actually

covered the hyperbolic functions, integration by parts (never did that in HS), 1st/2nd order linear homegenous ODE's, 1-dimensional PDE's (wave equation, heat equation, and 1 other thing that i can't remember). i'm still missing stuff, but least to say i was very pleased with having my college teacher for calc again (he pushed us a lot too, which was great. started with 130 kids, whittled down to 21 - the other 110 went to easier math classes)

that teacher actually got me interested in math so much that i took his "complex variables" class the following year, and i wanted to double major in math (not enough time for that though)

easily one of the greatest moments of ownage ever in my math class:

student: A lot of people dropped the class

Teacher: A lot of people SHOULD!

god that was amazing

I got a 3 in Psych when I took it.

dude psych is the easiest.

easier than euro history.

i think ap is kinda lame because some schools grade you on curve according to your own class rather than state/national stats.

so if u go to a sh1tty school it's easier to get a 5, than say...westlake.

am i right or wut?

Took AP Spanish exam yesterday. Man, that SUCKED. During the listening part, they talked at 500 words/minute and mumbled the whole time. And then they had some people talking through phones, which distorted it even more. I've been to a Spanish speaking country and they speak fast, but not that fast.

did they have anyone slow?

in my AP French exam, i was always thankful when they had an african-french person speaking, because they were much slower than all the other speakers

Our teacher suggested taking AP Calc in HS just for the one-on-one attention we'd be getting (25 kids/1 teacher as opposed to 130/1 professor).

But he's a freaking mathematical genius anyway. I don't even know why the guy is teaching geometry. He should be solving world hunger with mathematical formulas.

They had a couple slower people. But they still blended their words and did some "uh" and "uhm" -ing, which makes it much harder. The worst is when Spanish people speak - they have a very specific accent that simply replaces sounds. z's and soft c's become a "th" sound, and they talk fast too.

For some reason I ran out of time on the first part of the MC. That left 4 blank and 1 wrong I'm guessing.

But I raped the rest of it. Hands down none wrong on 2nd MC, and both FRs, and if I missed anything, 1 point at max. Had 10-15 mins left on these portions, and so I slowly checked back.

Now it's time to learn chem. Shoot.
