I don't know those English names, but I'm guessing that you mean Hataraku-Maou Sama? That was one of the few anime that I enjoyed last season, and I'd certainly recommend it. The story does kind of lull a bit, and it's on break (?) after 13 episodes. I just hope it comes back for another season! :'(
I agree. The whole plot of Robotics;Notes wasn't that good. I really wish that they would have just stuck with a group of kids trying to build a robot! Although, that's just the opinion of this mecha-holic!
If you can get through Clannad After Story without tearing up, you are the manliest of manly men! The original isn't nearly as heart-wrenching as the original.
Trough may not be great, but it holds a special place for me as the first anime that I watched in Japanese about 12 years ago. I don't think I've watched a dubbed anime since! My favorite episode has always been Hard Puncher (episode 5), because I'm a sucker for people being really heroic/selfless.
Who could resist Ryousuke-sama!? ...or if you're used to the awful English names, Ry. Initial D also has an awesome soundtrack given if you ignore the openings and endings (done by M.O.V.E.), it uses just about all Eurobeat, which is a sort of electronica that evolved out of 80s synth rock. If you really enjoy it, there are around 200+ Super Eurobeat albums available as they've been released ever since the late 80s.
As for the show, it's been my favorite anime for a long time; although, I mostly read the manga instead. The fifth season is currently airing on a sort of PPV channel in Japan, so I'm not sure when it will be coming out here.
Thank you!
I watch Sword Art, looks pretty good.
Also, about Naruto. This is the filler guide http://www.narutohq.com/naruto-shippuden-fillers.php but someone told me some fillers are worth watching because it's important and whatnot. Do you know what episodes are those 'must watch fillers'?
I just started watching Sword Art Online. I'm liking it overall so far simply b/c I used to play WoW fairly hardcore. I understand all the references and online jargon.
I want to check out Attack on Titan. That looks pretty awesome.
Eh... fillers are called that because that's really all they are meant to do... fill time. Unfortunately, at times, they're just a necessary evil because it usually helps put some distance between the anime and the manga. Another solution is simply to take the seasonal approach, but I don't see that often in longer shounen anime. Ultimately, I don't care about filler because it's not canon. I have the same opinion about off-shoot movies; they are also not canon, so any sort of training will usually never migrate to the actual show.
I guess it just comes down to whether you want to watch more of those specific characters or you want to see where the story is going.
I keep meaning to get back into D. Gray-Man, but I never get around to it. I don't remember why I stopped, but I think it was shortly after (I think this is around chapter 160 so beware!)
the exorcist HQ was attacked
. I think it just felt like it was dragging on for way too long. Although, looking it up, it appears that the anime ended pretty soon after where I stopped reading.
Oh, thinking about humorous anime, if you like computers and nerdy stuff (you are on Anandtech), consider Battle Programmer Shirase. I do apologize in advance, because you won't care for the abrupt ending!
Ahh got'cha! The two were practically like night and day to me genre-wise, so I wasn't sure if you meant both! ... and now, I really want to watch Fumoffu again.

Also, hell the freak 'Episode: 143-219' 50+ episodes in a row? What kind of plot in that timeline? Do you know? How the hell can you have 50+ episodes in a row? It must be important right? no? :\

I'm guessing that's the original Naruto series as it had quite a ridiculous amount of filler at the end. Honestly, I didn't really watch much of it at all, because it was usually just a bunch of random stories or small arcs, and by that point, I started reading the manga instead.
Naruto was kind of an odd bird as most anime don't insert that much filler at once. For example, One Piece is another long-running shounen series, and it also has quite a bit of filler; however, they will insert a few episodes here and there in-between arcs or right in the middle of existing arcs to slightly elongate them. Although, the One Piece anime is barely behind the manga at this point.
The last of the big shounen three, Bleach, actually had an entire story arc (the Bount Arc) that was all filler.
Kotonoha no Niwa - visually stunning in a very subtle way.
Kara no Kyokai - for something more violent.
Sword of the Stranger - for swordplay.
Macross Frontier (and the original SDF series) - for space opera.
Code Geass - for two solid seasons.
5 centimeters per second - just go watch it.
Ghost in the Shell (SAC and SSS)
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu - for lulz
