The most popular MMO Anime is Sword Art Online. Have you watched that?
I havent yet. Only gave Log Horizon a try since it was new (started in october). Sword Art has been on my to watch list for awhile though.

Kill la Kill is probs the popular Anime right now.KillLaKill is my pick of the season

I finished watching Sword Art Online. Enjoyed the first 14 or so episodesBut the rest of the episodes just seemed meh to me. Felt like they really rushed through thingsright up to where they beat SWO and exit the gamemade it feel like they just rushed to end it.and the fact you didnt have the risk of perma death IRL
Log Horizon....it feels skippy to me. The episodes havent really been flowing super well IMO. The last two havent been bad but the others felt like they had nothing in common and you could watch them in any order.
I tried killalkill and it just didnt seem to interest me. Only tried the first episode though. Is the show pretty much the same as the first or is it worth trying some more of it?
Neon Genesis Evangelion
And then go watch Pacific Rim.
I 100% agree with you. SAO is meh after episode 14. I haven't watch Log horizon, but I've heard mixed reviews, so I didn't bother. I know it's gonna be similar to SAO somehow.I finished watching Sword Art Online. Enjoyed the first 14 or so episodesBut the rest of the episodes just seemed meh to me. Why do you find Kill la Kill stupid!I found kill a kill stupid. I prefer the other funny shows like
Ore No Nounai Sentakushi Ga, Gakuen Lovecome O Zenryoku De Jama Shiteiru
and
Yuusha Ni Narenakatta Ore Wa Shibushibu Shuushoku O Ketsui Shimashita
to be far superior.
I like Aoki Hagane No Arpeggio: Ars Nova as well.

kyoukai no kanata was very good to begin with, made a really strong move after the idol ep and then just devastated you with the main twist. the action animation has always been top notch even for kyoani. the ending felt kinda rushed. i suspect they thought it would do better in the initial ratings and get an immediate 2nd season extension order. now we have to wait for dvd/br sales to see if they get a 2nd.
yokazura quartet has just floored me with the animation they manage to cram in. they seem to be skipping around the LN chapters so the 2nd arc is a bit confusing.
a certain railgun season 2 is also a good one. very nice build to the finale.
gundam build fighters is nice for what it is, i liked the original ova where it was strictly about contemporary gunpla model building and the battles were just a video game where you wore flightsuit coveralls and a helmet. the whole plastic animating particles is just silly. plus the whole 1/144 vs 1/220 big zam joke played way better than the upcoming perfect-grade zaku ep.

I don't think a three episode ending for Kyokai should be considered rushed.
I like the different perspectives of the railgun, index, etc provided.
The one thing about Railgun though is that some of the episodes are completely worthless, and a few others are rather cringe-worthy. It's not a bad series if you can get over the rather blatant and repeated (ad nauseum) shoujo-ai.
reset button successfully hit no secrets revealed, please fund another season cuz we're back to the status quo that everyone likes.they didnt explain the mom, the villain/youmu guy, the older sister half youmu secret, and they just stuffed the big bad back into Aki. plus the girl coming back to life is the grossest deus ex hand wave ever.
if they did get the upfront order for the back 12 eps, most of that stuff would have been explained and paced for better effect. its frikken kyoani, they dont do any series without 3 tons more emotional wishy washy heartbreak between main characters.
i watch the first 3 eps of any series i think has a chance of being good, so i know what hooks i tend to enjoy and what patterns suggest a good season payout. usually if the animation is good enough i'll hang with it. I should really start a blog with my impressions to help filter the crap out for others, but im too lazy.
Anyone watched Clannad? OMG, I think I found my all time fav!
you are late to the party...Wait til you hit Clannad: After Story. Pretty sure Clannad was mentioned earlier in this thine thread.
Initial D is one of my favorite anime of all time! Although, I will tell you that part of my love for it comes from its heavy use of Eurobeat, which is a rather interesting genre in itself. Eurobeat was pretty much European artists not wanting to let the 80s die, as the genre started in the late 80s and sounded pretty much exactly like our 80s synth rock that we had in the US.
For example, here's Max Coveri's Bye Bye Baby, which was released on Super Eurobeat #003 in the late 80s. It sounds a lot like 80s music, and Eurobeat hasn't changed much other than going up in tempo. Although, it is odd how a lot of the songs in Initial D are about love. Some songs may be slightly cleaner about it such as Black Power's Destination Love, and sometimes they are rather blatant such as Dusty's Love Injection.
My personal favorite? Mega NRG Man's Express Love from the first Battle Stage. It played during Takumi's battle against the SW20 (second generation Toyota MR2 Turbo).
Shows like Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) and Breaking Bad (yes, I am talking about a non-anime) really bug me. I just don't get how people can consider them great when they are so obviously flawed in one huge area: PACING. I've read the Shingeki no Kyojin manga, and I will tell you that it doesn't get any better. It's even worse because it's a monthly serial that only has double the chapter length of the usual weekly serial (i.e. half the pages over time). None of that means the story isn't good; I just don't think they're telling it very well.
EDIT:
It's a good show, but it certainly has changed its focus quite a bit over the last few episodes.
Clannad: After Story made me shed many super-manly tears. :'(
After Story made me blubber like a baby. :$
