Princess Principal
a street urchin learning pick-pocketing at the school of hard knocks
This thread is too long. Did anyone mention cromartie high school? lol
Cromartie was such a weird anime. It was probably the first one that I watched that just seemed out there, and it has that very stylized opening.
She also showed me another one about a teacher obsessed with marrying a 16 yr old girl?? Whatever the name, that show was entertaining too.
Sounds like Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO).
That's the one! Very funny show and haven't seen it in a while. I also tried watching a show I saw on Hulu called assassination classroom but didn't like it lol.
I like sci fi too so my sister also showed me a show called jyu oh sei. Wasn't a fan lol tho I'm sure there is bette sci fi anime
Anime is like any other media: just because you like one superhero movie or show on CW does not mean you're going to like them all, and there are a lot more bad and mediocre shows than timeless classics.
You might like Blame or the Captain Harlock CGI movie on Netflix.

Anime, sort of like movies, tends to follow trends, and sometimes, a trope will pop back up. GTO wasn't really the start of the "overly-supportive sensei", but it's probably the most memorable one. Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) is one that I would bring up as being similar, but they do have some differences in that Onizuka is far more crass.

You need to fly past season 1 so you get to know all the characters then season 2 is the good stuff. The ending is very satisfying and heartwarming! Watch the dub version because the dub is better than the sub IMO yes I know sub is always better but dub for AC is pretty good. I watch all my Anime sub but sometimes I watch dub if it's 'good' I say I watch sub 95% of the time and dub 5%I'm thinking of giving assassination classroom another chance. My tastes have changed since I watched it and that was long before I watched GTO.
Has anyone seen Space brothers? I am currently on episode 16 and wow the show is freaking amazing!!!! so far 9/10 no bullshit just pure realistic! Me likey!
The only anime I've ever watched was Naruto and that was quite a long ago, don't actually know which episode was the last haha. And one more was the flying house about a walking house with a "demon" and a girl, that actually also was long ago, not a big fan of anime but can watch a good one though
Been watching Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni. It's a fairly silly show, though there has been some surprisingly decent humor I wasn't expecting.
Certainly not what I'd call a "good" show, but i'll at least end up finishing this season.
I wish there was a "Best Of..." this thread. I check it once in a while to get some recommendations, but I'm a casual at best anime fan and it's hard to go through everything mentioned.
Yup, it really is just a meandering adventure where nothing really can go wrong and the MC is about as over powered as you can get. Totally lacking any real story depth.I've been watching it as well, and I agree about it not being a good show. It's one of the weaker revival shows, but it's also very easy to just turn it on and watch it. It's kind of like Knight's & Magic in that stuff just happens and they don't meander much, but the show really lacks a strong plot. Last week's episode was the first one to really get them into a potential arc with those magic beast things.
