Anyone in Boston, MA....need some help

Will be attending a conference at the John B Hyes Memorial Convention Center. I have been looking for accomodation in the vicinity of Sheraton Boston Hotel 39 Dalton Street, but most seem to be full. Would anyone be able to suggest a realtively inexpensive hotel in the area or at least with shuttle transport to the center. Thanks

Hynes Convention Center is very accessible by all forms of public transportation. There's at least 3 hotel within 3 blocks of the convention center. I'm not awake enough to remember their names. However, if you can't get a reasonable hotel within walking distance, quite a few of our trains/buses will take you within 5 minutes walking distance of the center.

I'll see if I can help you in a couple of hours, I want to finish my last project so I can enjoy my Friday.

Thanks ace. I did make a tentative reservation at the HOLIDAY INN HOTEL BOSTON-BROOKLINE, MA
1200 BEACON ST. Have no idea how far or what neighbourhood it is in....so it is readily cancelable. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure if you have visited this website, but it might be helpful in your search for a hotel. bostonusa.com If you can find a hotel, I can probably assist you with directions.

1200 Beacon St. is along one of our train routes. The 'green line' B train goes along that street. So if you do end up picking that hotel, transportation won't be far. One of the stops on the green line is hynes convention center. ..though it's a block away..

Is this in a decent neighbourhood, as I will be working late at times? I asked them about the train and they mentioned that to me. But if you say so, its a block only..then I guess its pointless for the train ...and yes I did look at the site...seems like a great place..hopefully I will work more than play

no no, I meant that after you take the train from holiday inn (~25minute ride) and get off at the hynes convention center stop it's a block away. I didn't mean that particular hotel was only a block away from the convention center.

Yup, Brookline is a nice neighborhood, very peaceful there.

Brookline is one town over from me, and is a very nice area.

If you're hopping the B Line, be prepared to be extremely frustrated. This line goes along BU's campus and has stops literally every block at times. Whereas the convention center is really close to Brookline, your actual commute along the B line will probably take you at least a half an hour


oh... and yeah... don't listen to baffled2...... she's been looking to get out of boston for a while, she has no true beantown pride!

If you want it cheap,you may well need to look further outside of town, rooms near the convention center get booked weeks/months in advance and always go for top dollar.
