anyone in the socal area wanna prep for their CCNP or CCSP?

just wondering... if anyone is looking to do their CCNP or CCSP?

i have a few routers, and some pix 501's and if anyone else has some equipment, it cam be pooled. i work better with a partner or with a group, and i'm sure there are others who work better the same way.

right now, with the equipment i have, i'm sure the BSCI, SECUR, CSPFA (sans failover), and CSVPN can be completed w/ what i have.

it would be great if someone had access, or had equipment that could cover the BCMSN (i do have 1 2950), and the BCRAN.

if you're interested, lemme know. i wanna try to get my BSCI exam over and done with in like 2 weeks.

typically, i'd like someone who either has their own equipment as well, or is willing to be like a mentor and get me up to speed. i don't mean to offend, i'm really not looking for anyone to freeload time off my stuff to where i gain nothing in return.

do you have access to equipment?

Even so its pretty much just read the books and take the test. Don't be scared of it, just study and take the tests.

i'm actually in the midwest right now... but headed back out.

as for the equipment... i have access to things that will allow me ot take the tests i mentioned. this is part of the reason i'm looking for someone else who has access to more equipment.

i know... what you're saying is 100% right, but i am really lousy when it comes to studying alone. something that should take me a month will end up taking a year.

I'll tell you how I passed my CCNP/CCDP.

I just up and scheduled the tests. One per week. Scheduled them all in one shot.

That way I HAD to study. Maybe a little harsh but it will put the motivation on ya.

you had access to all the equipment though didn't you.... i only have the equipment to get one exam out of the way...

although, passing one exam is infinitely better than passing none.

i've you've been on a switch and router you have everything you need.

its really not that difficult and to tell you the truth I never "practiced" on equipment. Just read and took the tests.

Which are you studying for 1st? BCMSN or BSCI?

you read and took the tests w/o any practical experience? that's mighty impressive actually.

as for where i am, i'm in yorba linda.

i wanna get the BSCI out of the way first. i don't have a layer 3 switch which sorta throws a big "?" on when i'll take the BCMSN.

here's another way to look at this.

cisco offers the "Cisco Qualified Specialist Certifications"

with the equipment i have, the following specialist certs can be acquired:

Cisco Firewall Specialist
Cisco VPN Specialist
possibly the Cisco Access Routing & LAN Switching Specialist

while they aren't professional level certs, i'm sure they're worth something.

ideally, if someone has some aironet equipment, the Cisco Access Routing & LAN Switching Specialist, and Cisco Wireless LAN Design Specialist can be prepped for as well.

so, seriously, noone is interested in doing this?

Just passed CCNP routing and am working on switching. If anyone in my area wanna do what xyyz is asking please let me know.
