Losi LX-T that I bought in 1993. I keep buying a new battery every couple years for it.

I used to be into them when I was younger. Had an offroad battery powered one. I really wanted a gas powered one but mine was still pretty damn cool.

I used to have a few of them. I had a RC-10 Graphite back in 1989 I think, and I had a Kyosho Maxxum. I also had a 1/12th scale Newman Porche 956 that was insanely fast, about 60-70 mph. That was super fast back in the late 80's/ early 90's. I know now with the nitro cars, hitting those speeds is easy, but back then it was a pretty good feat.

I wanted to see how fast I could get it, so I put the largest pinion gear I could fit on there, and used a 9-turn Trinity Big Daddy dragracing motor, 50,000 rpm. I also used a 7 cell battery. The car was uncontrollable, and eventually got airborne and broke.

I put a larger gear in mine for quicker acceleration, does wheelies on demand.

Try attaching a spring to counteract the throttle servo. If you get sudden power loss the spring will pull the throttle closed as the servo will move freely. You may need an uprated servo if you're using a standard one.

I've got a Nitro stampede from about 8 years ago. On my second engine now (OS CV-15) but the truck itself works like new, only damage it's ever had is the odd wishbone snapped in over-ambitious stunts . Rock solid piece of kit. Looking to get something 4WD and with a .21 now, though.

Nice vehicle you got there. Good work putting the battery pack at the front to keep the weight balanced.... What engine you using there?

I had a Losi XX, XXCR, XXT, and XXX. I raced them when I was 15-17 or so. I sold about everything, but still have my M8 radio.

A 1:10 scale model doing 55MPh scale speed would be doing 5.5mph 'real' speed...

A lot of "50mph" vehicles only really do about 30, which is still plenty enough to take out an ankle. 30mph real speed would be 300mph scale speed!

The Schumachers can do 80 mph on the box; we did a rough test taking the time to cross two lines of a set distance and it was prety damned close to that value. The 2 speed transmission would bump this up + make the thing sound sweeeeet.

Scale speed is the speed that the model looks like it's going. You get the number by multiplying the actual speed times the scale. So a 1/10th scale RC car going 60 mph would look the same as a full size car going 600 mph.
