Sure. MODERATE:
I just pulled up to your house in my new car. I walk up to your door, hand you a ruler and tell you to go estiamte the weight of my car.
How do you do it?
NOTES: No, you can't look it up online. No, you can't look at the door jamb, the doors are locked. No, it's not figuring out the spring constant for the axle springs and measuring the deflection. Yes somone actually said this to me.
Well?

since the word estimate is in bold, I'd think the answer is something like "I estimate your car is heavier than the ruler." wtf is estiamte?
Way too simple. Did you write it correctly? Open the door, flip the switches on one at a time. When the light goes on, you know which switch does it.Originally posted by: IHateMyJob2004
There are threee light switches outside of a closet door. One and only of them turns the light on. You are allowed to open the door once and tell me what switch turns the light on.
hwo do you do it?
NOTES: No, you can't see the light on throguh the cracks on the door edges.

I'd launch it into space, then I'd tell you its weightless!

SIMPLE to MODERATE. matters who you ask. Usually stuimps aot of people even though the solution is simple:

That is how the riddle is supposed to be done. However, that isn't what was asked above. That is why I asked if he wrote the thing incorrectly.Originally posted by: YOyoYOhowsDAjello
He said that a friend of his was asked this in a job interview. It took me a few minutes to figure it out.
To clarify:
You cannot just open the door and flip the switches to see what happens.
The door is closed and you are outside. Once you open the door you can't mess with the switches anymore.
