Anyone know anything about vaporizers?

I'm not going to use google for this one, too many marketers out there with fake blogs and the like.

I casually use marijuana (it's decriminalized and actually much safer than the heavy stuff I used to take for migraines) and also live in an apartment building with a kid, so I use a portable vaporizer (flight box? magic something or the other) to avoid the smell and second hand smoke. It's great but it's wearing out pretty quickly, and the batteries need replacing every 3 or 4 months (high capacity nimh, costing me 20 bucks a set of 4). I should just get a plug in vap but can't justify the cost of a Volcano. any budget picks? I had a $150 vap years ago that was absolutely dreadful, but any sub-$200 vaps worth it?

I have a silver surfer vap and it was around 200 bucks. I used it a few times and it worked well. It has some great reviews. I did some research. Da Budda has a similar one and it is a little cheaper. I highly recommend my vaporizer and for the money it is totally worth it. One of these days I will use it again, but that is a whole different story. Weed is still illegal here in NY. I have been going through a hellish divorce with a lunatic so I cannot partake.

I use e-cigs and have the same problem. Let me see if someone who knows a little more is willing to post in here for you....

Snoop Dogg was on Conan a few weeks ago and gave him a G Pen. No idea if they're any good or what they cost, but you might want to look into it.

Arizer extreme Q 4.0 is my go to vape, has an 18.8mm glass fitting and hose so if you have a water pipe it fits right in for vapoebong hits. The extreme Q also has normal whip function and a fan to allow you to make vapor balloons.

Save up your AVB (already vaporized bud) and make AVB edibles too, not as potent as normal edibles but still good.

The extreme Q is the budget volcano essentially.

Also I own the MFLB too, I use Powerex 2700mAh batteries, they last longer than the stock batteries and are ~$15 from Amazon for a 4 pack. They last 6-12 months before needing replacing. The MFLB is great for stealthy hits in public, but the quality of the vaporization is low, it works though and is cheap. The PAX ploom is a good alternative if you want portability. It gives better hits than the MFLB but costs twice as much and you can't just change out the battery for a fresh one.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

just cause im curious and know nothing about this, but why can you simply use rechargeable batteries in one of them. seems like an easy and cheap fix to one of the issues

the problem with the MFLB is it needs high power batteries (2000mAh minimum with 2500-2700mAh being preferred) So a single 2700mAh battery that I use lasts for 3 maybe 4 trenchfulls of substance. Which is decent, but not great. Then it's 5+hours to recharge the battery. Most MFLB owners have 4-8 of these batteries and constantly have a few on the charger just in case.

You're posting on Anandtech, therefore you're making at least 6-figures, right? Just go for the $500 volcano vaporizer and don't look back.

$14 for 4 isn't bad at all.

Funny thing is I was just at the smoke store this weekend upgrading my e-cig. I wanted a new tank and was checking out batteries. They had all these bad ass looking ones that I really wanted but the guy working told me that I smoked the wrong stuff so I can't use the cool ones

I can only imagine they'd be for wax or oils instead of the e-cig juice or a combustion chamber for solid plant matter.

I actually came in here to recommend the Magic Flight Box, but you already have it.

Yes the batteries wear out, but you can find similar ones on Amazon (the higher charged ones) for like $15 per 4. Basically the same batteries the companies sends with the box. If you email them, they'll send you the info.

The stock batteries are 2200mAh I recommend 2500mAh or higher. Anything over 2700mAh is Chinese bullshit and fake though

I have Da Buddah and love it. Been using it past 3-4 years. I believe they were under 200.

I cannot smoke it anymore at all. Once you go vape there is no going back.

i bought 2500's on amazon and they work ok for me. There's better devices, but for the money, this is a great piece. I'd love to get a PAX.

The PAX is nice but the price point scares me away because I can get a really awesome desktop vape that I know will be better quality for less money. Since I already have the MFLB I (personally) probably wont get a PAX, unless I have a lot of extra money for some reason, or the MFLB dies in some way and Magic flight refuses to repalce it (unlikely as they replace units for free even if you superficially did something to break it). Great portable vape overall though if you are just starting out.
