Anyone know how I would setup a custom DDNS using my current host and a subdomain?

I currently have a website hosted with Bluehost and a router running Tomato.

I've setup Tomato to use no-ip.com and that works.

I saw in Tomato I could use a custom URL, which got me thinking that maybe I could use a subdomain on my current host to host a DDNS service that my router could update remotely instead. Nothing is wrong with no-ip.com, but I think I need to log in every X days to maintain it and since I already pay for my host it would be nice just to use that URL.

Does anyone have any information that would help me figure out how to set this up?

Of course once I finally decide to ask for help my next search finds some more information.

I think I need to setup and host a BIND server on my domain, would this be correct?

Not necessarily. Depending on your Dynamic DNS provider, they may host the DNS on your domain for you for a small fee. Then, you would be able to use your domain as a Dynamic DNS. You would need to manually enter in any DNS settings required for your webhosting, though.

Hosting your own DNS server for a domain is a lot of work, and you can't really do it unless you have a static IP address.
